We are chatting about food and body image from our own personal reflection after reading and studying Matthew chapter 6.
There is a lot in this topic that over time we will chat more on, but today we wanted to talk about not worrying about food and your body from the words spoken in verses 25-32.
This is really our first food-related discussion since reading the Bible. And to be honest it has been something we have wanted to chat about because we know many women still suffer from anxiety around food, dieting and their bodies.

If you are not familiar with our story we struggled with poor body image and had a bad relationship with food and exercise. We over-exercised. We binged ate. Suffered from orthorexia. And pretty much everything else out there we tried from diets to different styles of workouts.
We didn’t realize it at the time but we were making food and our body image idols.
And over a decade each year, we have learned to love and appreciate our bodies and no longer worry about food.
Thanks to the grace of God and we hope you can see from our story that God is with you even if you don’t feel He is.
God truly guided our steps to have freedom around food and our bodies.
Now we are not perfect, but the food obsessions and what we look like no longer consume the majority of our thoughts.
There are so many diets and ways of eating and different people telling you to eat this and not that.
We pray people begin to realize we don’t need to be putting so much focus on food. We need to stop idolizing food and our appearance.
Jesus has told us here not to worry.
God will provide. We seek His kingdom first!

- worshipping food and your body
- diet and health industry
- putting money, success, status and body first
- worshipping food and what your body looks like
- you can still take care of yourself and have things
- abundant of choices today
- people still struggle with fear of having food to eat
