It’s been 5 weeks of not workout due to taking a strong antibiotic for my sinus infection.
If you are new to what’s going on, check out my other posts here:
In today’s I share my journey of not working out for 5 weeks. I share my thoughts on how I am doing mentally, did my body change and so much more.
I didn’t work out for a month here’s what happened. Plus discussing body shaming, body image and body dysmorphia.
Please share this video with your girlfriends who would benefit from this video.
As I mentioned in the video I am working on a new workout program called, Easin’ Back! How to start moving your body after not exercising for a period of time.
I am filming LIVE as I go. My first workout back is Monday July 22nd! Come join me LIVE on Instagram at 10am EST.
I am super excited for this program. It’s going to be fun and easy to fit into your busy schedule. You will get results if you do the work, of course! The physical work and spiritual work.
IF you aren’t on our email list, make sure you do to hear about it. LINK is at the bottom of the post, PLUS you will learn our FIT SECRETS.
Yes, I do feel a bit weaker & softer looking. Notice a bit more squishy and bouncy instead of firm.
But really I don’t care. I truly embrace it. It makes me ME. It also helps me with my body image to remind myself that God created me perfectly, as he did YOU.
So why would I pick at it? Why not love it?
Now, not every day I was mentally strong about my body.
If I had a negative thought come up or starting picking at my body, I was able to quickly stop it and turn my focus off it and move on without going down the rabbit hole of negative self-talk.
Things to remember from this video
- You are more than your body.
- Let’s stop all the body shaming and all just embrace each one’s journey.
- God made each of us be different.
- Love your body because you are enough.
- It’s important to form a better relationship with your body. How you view your body, what you think about yourself, what you think healthy is…what fit is…all will affect your outcome.
- We are all just bodies with beautiful souls in them all doing the best they can.
- Don’t fear weights. You don’t have to lift heavy, we don’t, but you do need some resistance training in your workout routine.
We would love to hear your thoughts on this, leave us a comment below.
Don’t measure your success by the number on the scale. You are more than the number on the scale.
Go by how you feel, your mood, your energy, your emotions!
My thoughts on why my body didn’t really change that much after not exercising for over 5 weeks.
Okay Now for my body not really changing despite not exercising for a month.
As you can see in these pictures my body didn’t really change that much.
Here are my thoughts on why…
1 – The type of workouts and HOW I work out that I have been doing for years. If you still fear lifting weights, I hope you will see that when you do weight training mixed with HIIT, as we do, it keeps your body strong and “toned” month after month. There are so many more studies on the benefits of weight training to improve your metabolism and help with your body long term.

2 – My MINDSET was strong. I have a belief my body only gets better over time.
Here are some MORE posts for you to read to hear more about fitness and our mindset shifts around itas you can see there are a lot as this topic is very personal to us:
We hope this has helped you see that from taking some time off from working out doesn’t automatically mean you will gain weight. Just how if you eat one cupcake you won’t gain weight.
We get it though.
The FEAR of gaining weight feels so real and it is there in your mind.
Hopefully through my journey here you can see that our bodies are stronger and smarter than we think. Your body ‘could’ gain weight but if you keep up with eating a balanced way of eating and have a strong mindset overall your body will be fine.
Don’t let your ego and inner mean girl make you focus on the negative and the fear of weight gain.
Instead, focus on that this is part of your journey and that your body will be okay!
And remember I have been working out…a mix of HIIT with weight training…for over 6 years!! So my body has a good solid base of general muscle mass that’s helping me out even without me working out.
And MOST OF ALL, I’ve been working on my mindest, loving myself for over 4 years, so my mind is a lot stronger -emotionally and mentally during all this.
