No workouts for a month, fearing of gaining weight, diet {Mindset tips}

by purelytwins

Back with a juicy video that is full of great tips for you if you too are taking a break from exercise like me, Michelle.

Check out this post where I give an update on my health and why I am not working out for a month or longer.

The antibiotic I am taking has a high risk of tendonitis, which is why I am not working out.

Many fit soul bosses what to hear my thoughts on it and how I am approaching it.

In today’s video, Lori and I share our mindset dealing with this as we both have been in situations before that required us not to workout.

We both took a summer off from our intense HIIT workouts to heal our hormones. We had missing periods for over 3 years.

Lori took two rounds of breaks after having her two girls...for 6 weeks she just did her core workouts, which I am doing now! (Details at the end of the post for those).

And then I took another break from working out when I was healing my eczema.

So we have had a lot of experience and excited to share our thoughts with you.

Mindset tips for fear of gaining weight, not workout and what to eat

Please share this video with your girlfriends who would benefit from this video.

Remember do not compare your healing journey to mine.  Trust in your journey.

Focus on YOU.

Keep your focus on your own healing and learning your body…

and find a deeper love for yourself and your body.

Remember true self-love is loving yourself during the hard times. To love yourself through the fears, doubts and not good times. It is doing the hard work – looking at the things, emotions, that most people don’t do!

We hope our tips and insights on dealing with the fear of gaining weight help you.

Remember it takes daily practice to be mindful of what you are saying to yourself and the stories you are saying.

Let us know your thoughts below.

Things to remember from this video

  • Weight gain is normal and sometimes necessary when healing
  • You are not your weight.
  • Don’t restrict your diet just because you are not working out. Your body still needs nutrients to heal. Don’t fall into the trap that you are
  • Face your emotions that come up. Journal. Meditate. Talk to someone. Do what you need to do to work through the fears.

We know the fear of gaining weight is real.

For years we abuse our bodies in the gym and restricted our eats because we felt bad for eating food, so we had to burn it off.

We feared gaining weight…

but it got us deeper into depression, hating our bodies more and more health problems.

That is not a way to live.

Life is meant for us to fully enjoy and experience…

and we need to have a healthy body that is thriving so we can, right?

Not your typical #transformationpics Normally you see the opposite (Top 2 pics are from us in 2013 and bottom two are from dec 2014) Today on the blog we share how we are getting fit this year. Not just physically fit but fit in ALL parts of life! Something we believe in – being strong in the mind, body and soul.

We all go through good and bad times, highs and lows, but that’s why life is so amazing! Everyday is a new chance! Everyday we get the opportunity to choose the path we want to take!  Falling off and getting back up is how you learn what you are capable of and grow to be a stronger person

Last year was tough for us, mostly the end of the year – Lori dealing with diastasis and michelle with eczema. But we know not only what our bodies can do but our minds too!! We will be sharing our journey to feeling stronger and more confident like we were in 2013 (the top pics) .

You Are Not Your Weight.
I have truly loved that. And sometimes, it feels so refreshing to get a rest from intense working out, and just move frequently, without pushing the pedal so hard all the time!
Thanks for the tips here,
I really enjoyed this video and article as well.
Best regards,
