Weekly Sparks – Lyla’s first birthday

by purelytwins

Highlights of Lyla’s first birthday.

I still can’t believe my second baby girl is one year old!

I was able to re-use the same one year birthday outfit that her sister, Madison wore when she turned one. Love that.

Note the headband didn’t last long.

Lyla came early at 38 weeks and has been a fast learner for sure.

Family of four.

She started walking at 10 months and loves to try to do what Madison does too.

Has 4 teeth now – 2 lower and 2 upper.

Lyla was excited to eat her first birthday cupcake.

We did the same exact recipe that we made for Madison.

I still can’t believe we just celebrated Lyla’s first birthday. I remember when I was holding her for the very first time a year ago!

Check out Lyla’s birth story here.

I am working on my one-year postpartum update that will be coming soon.

I meant to keep up with monthly updates on Lyla like I did with Madison but honestly time just flew by. Life with 2 kids while trying to run a business takes up a lot of time. I love it all though. I am so grateful for my girls and for everything in my life.

Even though yesterday’s birthday party didn’t go as planned I embraced it all.

There are many mixed emotions when reflecting back as I remember pregnancies, my girl’s birth stories, and life with 2 girls under the age of 3 I have learned and experienced a lot.

One important thing embrace my life and for everything in it instead of looking around and comparing myself to others.

Today was supposed to be a day filled with lots of laughter and celebration but it ended up being a day filled with mostly cries and tantrums all day long. Hard day mentally for mom. I felt like all day I was constantly yelling at Madison “No” “why did you just do that to your sister?” “don’t hit!” etc. We had a few tantrums because they wouldn’t share the headband for the photos so headband went away and no one wanted to share toys today.

It’s so important for me to take time each day for myself.

My pray and faith in Jesus saves me, everyday!

Thanks for the love and support

xoxo
