Easy healthy dairy-free peanut butter fudge…the best!
A soul-satisfying dessert that we enjoyed this past week.
Lori’s core is getting stronger and she is doing more advanced moves with me which she is excited about. Dealing with previous diastasis she is always being mindful of her workouts and daily life actives, as it’s a daily practice to keep in good alignment as much as possible.
They love their daddy (and the rocking chair as they both always want to sit on it).
Plantain waffles + happy cup + a good book! Great way to start the day.
Will I succeed or fail? Will I look smart or dumb? Will I be accepted or rejected? Will I feel like a winner or a loser? OR Why hide deficiencies instead of overcoming them? Why seek out the tried and true, instead of experiences that will stretch you? Why take life’s setbacks and turn them into future successes?
Which mindset are you? Fixed or growth? Always trying to validate yourself or stretch yourself to learn and develop yourself?
We are just 2 chapters into Carol Dweck ‘s Mindset book and loving it. We’ve already experienced some “aha” moments. Love those moments. We are learning to be more aware of our thoughts – are they fixed or allowing us to grow. See challenges as opportunities to grow ourselves more, not failures or that it’s not meant to be for us.
We will always be learners in life. The exciting part is that we are rewriting our story and getting more clear on who we want to be and how we want to show up in the world.
Honestly, as we look back we had a little bit of both mindsets, but fixed was dominant for sure. As for so long, we strived for being perfect, always feeling we had to prove ourselves, but we also had thoughts of, “this is a challenge and we will keep learning to figure it out”. The older we got we finally understand it’s a journey! It’s about learning (progressing) something over time. #progressoverperfection
As Carol says, “The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of a growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.” We agree with this.
Despite having some fixed mindset thoughts (I’m a failure. I am worthless.) we are open to things and trying it and seeing what we can learn. Despite our challenges, we kept working through them. We cannot wait to dive deeper into this book and continue to improve ourselves.
What book are you reading now ??
Love seeing the ocean every day. We are so blessed and grateful.

Their faces say it all. Pure happiness.
We’ve been eating this for 3+ years and don’t see it ending any time soon, haha.
We’ve been reflecting back on how much has changed in our lives, especially since starting our blog purelytwins.com back in July 2012. Back then we were still trying to figure out what to eat, did a gut healing journey, Lori had finally healed her long 5 year battle with adult acne and coming to terms with having PCOS .
We were on our journey of recovering from being obsessive over the way we ate, the need to be and look perfect, and worrying what others thought of us. We were starting to realize that we had to stop trying to look for something to be fixed about us and to be perfectly healthy and start loving ourselves. But we still faced struggles (we had more lessons to learn).
Then I got eczema, Lori got pregnant(which was a healthy pregnancy) but ended up getting diastasis and had to learn how to heal diastasis. (ab separation where you have a lower belly pooch that won’t go away).
Fast forward some, Lori had another healthy pregnancy and healed her ab gap and I healed my eczema, we invested huge amounts into ourselves and our business (some were good decisions and others weren’t) which brought different struggles of worthiness, money blocks etc.
NOW we are girls starting to own our power, see our worthiness, share our truths and lead from our hearts and faith not with fear and doubts like before. The journey hasn’t been easy…and we are still learning new things. We now have so much more fun, joy and love in ourselves and lives. We don’t play the victim anymore but chose to BE the girls we want to be now.
Our self-love journey has awakened new curiosities. We’ve learned a lot about growing a business, finding our tribe, becoming abundant in all parts of life, hustling, letting go, deep healing and forgiveness through our spiritual journey. We realized our struggles were a blessing. They led us on a spiritual journey to love and self-acceptance.
Believing in yourself, changing your mindset, and surrounding yourself with people who push you and see the good in you are two huge factors to get more love, success and happiness in your life. Awhile back on the blog we shared 8 tips – check them all out here.
