Less than 5 weeks to go for this second pregnancy journey! Wow just typing up this blog post it is really hitting me – I will soon have 2 daughters! Things are getting real over here… and I can’t wait!
I’ve been slowly getting baby #2’s nursery all set up. I got another baby monitor and got her clothes, cloth diapers, toys and bath items out. Along with the good old bobby pillow for breastfeeding. I plan on cleaning all the toys, clothes, bottles and pacifiers here soon so everything is nice and clean for baby #2.
Gary and I went this past Sunday to get a hospital tour. It ended up being a private tour as the other couples that registered didn’t show up. The lady who gave the tour was super nice and it went well. The facility was nice too, which put my mind to ease as the hospital in Charlotte where I had Madison was really nice and I loved my nurse there. I have faith that with this labor everything will work out!
After having the tour it made me more and more excited for labor. The hospital sounds like it will follow my birthing preference which is good to know as the nurse said they aren’t pushy or make any judgments off my request which is so nice to hear. I am using the same birth preference as I used with Madison.
They only had one room with a tub in it and it’s first come first serve. I told the lady I didn’t use one for my first but I am thinking of trying it for this one. So hopefully it is open whenever I go into labor.
How being 35 weeks pregnant is going with second child and hospital tour
Side by side comparison photo of my pregnancy journey of my 2 pregnancies. Crazy to see my different baby bumps! They are so similar yet different. Love that.
Eggs. Right now eggs always sound good to me plus chocolate that’s always on the menu.
Wedding ring is still on. No extra bloating or swelling.
Every once in awhile I get some pelvic pain and getting lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. I get leg cramps about once a week. I take the time to practice my deep breathing when any of this happens as I feel it is a good labor pain preparation.
Sleeping is becoming more interesting. I am tossing and turning more which is difficult when you have a bump to be mindful of. It takes me awhile to fall asleep which is weird for me because I am usually out when my head hits the pillow.
Most of my stretch marks are around belly button and left side of belly that I got from my first pregnancy. Besides that I am don’t see anything else. I have been doing my best to keep my belly moisturized morning and night. There have been some days here recently that my belly itches likes crazy. I put lotion on it and it seems to make it worse. Frustrating. Eventually it calms down.
Being able to roll over in bed without having a big bump to worry about. Besides that the same as last update at 27 weeks pregnant.
How is my skin?
How is digestion?
Normal bowel movements most of the time thank goodness for my Squatty Potty. I did have a day where I had some diarrhea which I know is a sign the body is getting ready for labor. Oh yea fun stuff, just keeping it real. No heartburn or anything.
Total weight gain?
About 15 pounds I think. Pretty similar to my first pregnancy.
How’s the baby girl #2 doing?
Awesome! She is a doing great. She moves around a lot so I think she is anxious to come. Now that she is bigger her movements hurt a little, well at least take me by surprise. She doesn’t get hiccups too often. Her heart rate is always good at checkups and my belly size is on target. Happy momma.
How are my pregnancy workouts going?
I am loving my workouts and my walking. My body still feels good doing working out. I don’t push myself too hard and focus on moving the body in some way. I have been focusing on lots of lower body workouts. I have been filming about one new pregnancy workout a week for my 9 month pregnancy program.
I try to walk at least 20 minutes every day, especially as I get closer and closer to due date I will focus mostly on walking.
Now I wanted to give a quick update on how little miss Madison is doing at 22 months.
She is doing amazing. I love seeing her learn new things and say new words. I sometimes catch myself just sitting there staring at her and thinking to myself I can’t believe she has been in my life for almost 2 years. And how big she has gotten. She has grown so much these past few weeks that now she can reach the top of the counters. So now nothing is off limits. Time for me to keep my counters cleared off the best I can.
She loves playing in my makeup and closet. I always find random shoes or clothes in various places in the house.
Madison loves going around and playing with all her sister’s baby toys. They are the same toys that she played with when she was a baby, so it’s cute to see her play with them again. Hopefully she will let her little sister use them, haha.
Each day Madison is getting more and more confident and realizing she can do more things along adding more and more words to her vocabulary. I am no longer momma but now mommYYYYY. She really makes it known it’s mommy.
She is testing mommy’s limits with some things she knows I don’t like her doing. I know typical toddler behavior but it is still hard. I am trying to figure out the best way to get her to realize some things aren’t safe doing. Disciplining is hard.
Everyone here is getting super excited for the baby to arrive! Even miss Madison. She touches my belly and says baby, baby. Love it!
