Breakfast made easy with plantain based gingerbread waffles that are cut to make waffle sticks
These waffles are not crispy on the outside instead they are soft pillow-like all the way through. They are more fluffy and soft.
Promise you won’t even miss the crispy outside. These will melt-in your mouth.
And forget the syrup.
Not needed on top of these.
The base for the waffle sticks is our flourless gingerbread waffles. Our favorite waffle recipe!
Plantains were the base for this recipe. Plantains are our flour. We like using green-yellow plantains. You can use a more ripe plantain if you want this recipe to be sweeter.
You can use plantain flour if you can’t get fresh plantains. We suggest about 1/2 cup at least of plantain flour to replace the 14oz of fresh plantains.Print
