We are back with a new video answering a reader’s question:
What eating disorder did we struggle with and how did we over come it? How is living now better than before? Do we still struggle with an eating disorder since we eat a gluten-free diet?
We love hearing from you and answering your questions.
This is a very personal topic for us as you will see in the video we suffered from binge eating disorder along with over exercising then became obsessed over being perfectly healthy. We’ve come a long way in our journey and now can happily say we are in a MUCH BETTER PLACE with food and ourselves. We hope you enjoy the video.
Does eating gluten-free mean you have an eating disorder?
Thank you to everyone who joined us LIVE on periscope.
As we mentioned in the video an eating disorder is not something to be taken lightly. It is serious. Many girls suffer on some level from one. We did: binge eating, restrictions and obsessive calorie counting.
We do not feel if you eat gluten-free you have an eating disorder. Some people have to avoid foods for health reasons, and some choose not to eat certain foods for personal or ethical reasons. We all have to find our happy place with food.
When you eat something focus on how that food will make you feel.
Make sure you are eating (whatever diet that is) for the right reasons. Not for someone else. Only you. Choose the foods you eat because you love yourself, not because you are trying to hide from something or punish yourself.
We want to hear from you…what are your thoughts?
xoxo

Great video! I personally dealt with issues like over-exercising, being obsessive with calorie counting, and more recently, orthorexia….thank you guys for helping people like me, and being a supportive, understanding, and reassuring voice! I ate a GF, diary-free, chocolate-pb brownie that was definitely meant for 2 people last night…and I don’t feel too bad about it- it was delicious and I had great company! WOOHOO!
