Do you have to be sore after a workout to see results?

by purelytwins

The fitness and health industries are always changing.

New things and information are always coming to the market. Making it more and more confusing on what to do and what to believe.

A few years back we were those girls who thought if we didn’t feel sore the next day our workout didn’t count; we somehow felt like we had failed. We thought we had to kill ourselves at the gym for hours to actually feel like we were making a difference with our bodies. Wrong.

Fast forward a few years, we now workout smarter and much shorter. And still see results.

Actually we’ve seen even better results.

In the video below we bust this fitness myth of no pain no gain.

Should my muscles be sore after a workout?

We share our thoughts in the video.

Truth or myth: you have to be sore after a workout to get results?

No. You don’t have to be sore after your workout for it to count.

No pain. No gain is  a myth.

Muscle soreness is not an indicator of a good workout. Don’t think just because you weren’t sore that your last workout was a waste of time. While muscle soreness can be normal and motivating, there is not enough scientific evidence showing you have to be sore to get better results.

So what does it mean when you get sore?

It simply means your muscles are doing something they aren’t used to doing.

One thing to keep in mind is that your body starts to adapt to your workouts.Your muscles gradually experience less and less soreness over time.

How do you know if your workout is effective?

Look at your overall progress. Are you stronger? Are you seeing results? Are you feeling good? Do you have increased energy, improved strength?

If you are seeing improvements in all of this then you are on the right track with your workouts.

Focus more on the quality of the workout.

Join us in stopping the worry about being sore and focus on the positive long-term benefits of working out like increased energy, strength, better looking skin, etc.

Let go of the old way of exercising and start this fall season with something totally NEW! RE-COMMIT to YOURSELF.
