How can it be? My little girl is 9 months old.
Madison is now 9 months old.
She has been on the outside as long as I was pregnant with her. Crazy to think about.
Madison has grown up so much this past month.
She lets her voice be known for sure, especially when she is frustrated.
Here is a day in the life with Madison and her full 9 month update.
Hope you enjoyed the video. Jax joined us.
Madison loves him so much. I adore seeing their bond.
We had a great 9 month doctor check up visit yesterday. She is over 17lbs and growing. The doctor says Madison is doing great 🙂
Love hearing that. #proudmom
One big thing that happened over this past month was that she figured out how to put her pacifier in her mouth. Huge deal. No more running into the nursery to put it in because she usually does it herself. Oh, and also, she sat up in the crib for the first time the other day. About time to lower the mattress.
She recognizes words like “do you want food?” and “no”. She loves moving around and gets very frustrated when she can’t do something. She is just about full blown crawling. Right now she mostly crawls backwards.
How is solid food going?
It is going great! She loves to eat (just like her mom). Still no teeth. I have a feeling she is going to get them all at once or something. She eats 3 meals a day of solids. It is different just about every day in what I have prepared for her. So far she likes everything.
I am doing mostly baby led weaning style of solids. I do some pureed foods but really Madison loves to have real food (finger food).
What she has eaten:
fruit: pears, peaches (new this month), apples, bananas, mangoes
veggie/carbs: sweet potato, plantains, spinach, broccoli (as pureed), carrots, parsnips (new this month)
protein: eggs, salmon, lamb, grass-fed ground beef, brisket (only once), turkey, chicken
fats: avocado, coconut oil, coconut butter, ghee (new this month), tahini (new this month)
misc: gelatin (new this month), very little coconut flour and tigernut flour (she only has had it when she samples some of my eats)
So far she has loved just about everything. She loves her meat and coconut. She has sampled some of my green juices and likes them. She gets so excited for meal time.
I love it. I am really enjoying this part. I love seeing her enjoy foods.

How is cloth diapering going?
Good. No major issues. I have found a few new brands that I have been liking. I will do a full update soon. I do use Honest Company disposables when we travel. Besides that we have been loving the cloth diapers. I have a good routine down.
How is breastfeeding going?
Good. I go through periods where I have low breastmilk supply when I pump. It comes and goes. I don’t think my diet has changed that much to make a difference in my flow, but not sure. Or maybe it’s just hormones.
I still haven’t gotten a period which I know is normal for most breastfeeding moms. I am doing 4 nursings a day with her.
How is sleeping and napping going?
Great! I am so grateful for Madison being a good sleeper. She is turning into a great napper too. Not everyday it’s the same but we are creating a great routine around here. I am very proud of myself for creating and focusing on sleep with her.
Getting her good quality sleep has been very important to me, so I admit I am very proud.
She sleeps about 11-12 hours at night. She has been doing this for a long time. #sograteful
She naps 2 times a day now. At the beginning of month we were transitioning from 3 naps to 2 naps. I am really loving 2 long naps over 3 short naps. It’s amazing how much more I can get done.
Thanks for letting me share my day with raising Madison and her 9 month update.
I am doing well. You can see my 8 month update here. Pretty much the same 😉
Now it’s your turn —> What is your favorite moment with your child?
When did your kid start crawling? Getting teeth?

I can’t believe that she’s 9 months already. My baby boy is 9 months on Friday…time has gone so fast. He started crawling last month, going backwards first, but now he’s discovered forward motion there is no stopping him!
It’s crazy how fast time goes by! Good to know, so soon she will be not stopping 🙂 xoxo Enjoy your little man! hugs
We just started crawling last weekend, time to baby proof! EK has started taking 2 longer naps which is so helpful!
that’s awesome Heather! I saw your facebook video – too cute! oh yay for longer naps!! hugs
Omg Lori she is adorable and getting so big! She reminds me so much of my daughter…Very vocal and animated! I love It:-)
thank you Jessica! xo
WOW ! She has eaten a crazy variety-filled diet!!! My sister’s baby is only drinking breast milk. LOL> Well it is only 10 days old! I am excited to see my sister’s baby grow older 🙂 It’s crazy to think you can make such a little joy!
Enjoy every minute girl it goes by fast!
9 months. Isn’t it crazy how fast it all passes?
As for teeth, my oldest got his first tooth at 7 months. My youngest was just shy of 1 year before his first tooth came in. They’ll come at some point. Hopefully when they do come, they won’t disrupt your amazing sleep routine. While my 6-year-old is now a wonderful sleeper, he didn’t start sleeping those long stretches at night until he was 3. My 2-year-old still wakes up a few times a night.
I love seeing how you enjoy and celebrate all of these little milestones. Babies are truly amazing.
Yes they are!
She’s growing up to be a beautiful girl! You’re raising her well, I can tell!
Thank you so much!! xoxo
