What we ate & day 1 KB challenge

by purelytwins

Yesterday was a great day!

We started our day with some positive thoughts, coffee, worked out, ate breakfast, showered, played with Madison, did work, ate more…repeat until bed.

In today’s vlog we show you what we ate yesterday, which was day 1 for our kettlebell challenge.

Did you enjoy our video?

What did you enjoy eating yesterday? Any favorite meals?

Picture of Lori’s random snack of 1 egg and 2 tbsp tigernut flour. Topped with coconut butter and cacao nibs. Lori also enjoyed some almond butter with a little bit of chocolate chips before going to bed for some breast milk pumping fuel.

I’ve been loving tahini lately too. I made tahini grain free cookies that were delish 🙂 You girls have inspired me to have fun in the kitchen.

I love seeing what you guys eat, it gives me some great ideas especially since i am on a candida program also 🙂
Coincidentally i just bought the same smoothie/protein powder today at whole foods, the smooth coffee flavor. i was wondering if when a recipe calls for protein powder, are u able to use this one? I was always under the impression that it had to be a soy or whey powder. If i could use this one that would be awesome!

purelytwins April 23, 2015 - 12:30 pm

Awesome Melissa, you will love it. And yes you can use that protein powder in recipes. We don’t use soy or whey always pea, hemp or brown rice protein in recipes 🙂

You too are awesome. I love that you are genuine ladies with great character. It flows through the videos. Don’t ever change. I will have to try the tiger but cupcake. I cannot do eggs. Any suggestions? Btw, were they good? Sore today. It was funny to watch me walk by the end of the day:)

thank you Erika this means so much to us 🙂 HUGS You can try flax gel as the egg replacement. We loved them.

I love your vlogs! My daughter does the same thing when she nurses… And no it doesn’t get any better! She constantly grabs my face, mouth, teeth… Pretty much anything and her legs are always kicking! I constantly tell myself to enjoy this time because it won’t last. On another subject, how much weight are you guys doing with the kettle bells?

purelytwins April 23, 2015 - 12:32 pm

haha Jessica, glad I am not the only one 🙂 Oh yes legs are always moving too! Kettlebells we have a 12lb weight and a 20lb weight, we use mostly the 20lb and when we do upper body moves we tend to grab the 12lb one.

Yesterday we ate Chocolate Avocado Pudding, delicious and healthy. Here’s the recipe I used: http://everydaymindfulliving.com/chocolate-avocado-pudding/

I’ve started to use Tigernut flour too 🙂 It’s awesome! Have you tried soaking the nuts (instead of buying flour) 😀

As for favorites for the summer, zucchini and carrots are major winners! 😛 And leafy greens… today I just had a (baby) romaine salad head as “dipping-sticks” for a protein powder mash.. haha totally random!

We still need to try the nuts, how do you eat them, whole?

Meg April 24, 2015 - 9:40 am

Your snack is almost identical to mine! I often have an egg with coconut flour, coconut butter and some hemp seeds before bed. Never cacao because it would keep me awake for close to a century!

purelytwins April 24, 2015 - 4:06 pm

Sounds like a great snack 😉

Did you ever work on increasing your calories (when you counted) or have you always eaten the same? In the past I restricted calories and now I want to fuel my body with enough calories but I’m a little nervous how to go about this without gaining weight. Thank you!

purelytwins April 30, 2015 - 12:28 pm

We tend to get the same calories, but do they range a bit each day. It all just depends how we are feeling, our activity level, etc. If you are not used to eating enough calories start slowly with increasing them so you body can adjust. We know it can be scary but your body does need fuel.
