Hello, Purely Twins!

I’ve been reading your blog for years and truly LOVE your approach to health, particularly, your relentless attitude towards finding your happy place with your gut, eczema and good quality sleep.

Do you feel like you’ve made progress in correcting your food intolerances and figuring out what works best for your body over the years you’ve had the blog? If so, do you feel like you’ll ever be able to add foods back in that your body doesn’t like?

I, for one, have been working on healing my gut for 3+ years and after finally removing a few more foods over the past 6 months (that I thought could never be offenders), I feel like my body is finally becoming happy. However, it’s pretty limited. Meat and veggies. I’ve tried introducing nuts, eggs, protein powders (vegan), and some FODMAPS back in, and my body doesn’t love it. I’m not convinced that I will ever be able to add them back in. Some naturopaths I’ve worked with feel like I will be able to eventually, but I’ve almost come to the conclusion that this is how my body will forever be happy.

What are your thoughts? What has your experience been?

Here’s my question along with some background.

I am into health and fitness like you two and have been for over a decade. My husband has never shared the level of passion as I have. He has been overweight since we met and they never bothered me until recently. A year and a half ago, he lost some weight. He felt more confident, he was happier, we were happier! Now he’s put the weight back on. He doesn’t eat unhealthy necessarily, he just eats way too much. I recently made a loaf of organic whole wheat bread with chia seeds and he finished it in hours. I have tried for months talking to him about eating less and it’s not working. We get into fights and he tells me its a sensitive topic and to drop it. He doesn’t want to count calories or go on any diet. I don’t even think a diet is necessary. I just want him to not eat emotionally. He is great with exercising. I don’t know what more I can do. What would you suggest?

Hey girlies! How do you get such strong cores? They are PHENOMENAL! To be more specific, how long (if you recall) did it take for real tone/definition. I feel like I’m sooo close and would love to hear how you achieved such incredible results (diet, exercise, etc).

random question! i noticed in your “day in the life” posts that michelle is over super early in the morning. does michelle still have her own place or does she live with you now? if she has an apartment, what time does she usually come over in the morning and leave at night?

I have been following your blog for a little while and I wanted to know how you all feel about birth control? Being the natural and pure it seems that birth control, with its synthetic hormones and damage to the woman’s body would be out of the question. What do you recommend, or use yourself?

I have a few questions!
1. Have you been vaccinating your daughter?
2. Your dietary changes seemed to have helped get you into great shape, but it seems like big health problems (eczema, natural fertility) are still there. Will you try something new to face these challenges or just stick with what you’re doing?
3. Hormones in general? Every now and then you’d throw in not getting periods or at least not regularly. Is that still the case?
4. How much do you worry about your physique being personal trainers? I know you guys clearly want to get stronger, what about fat loss?
5. What is Gary’s profession!

i struggle making meals my whole family will eat (various food allergies and preferences). Does Gary eat the same way as you? How do you do family meals? How do you plan on feeding Madison as she gets older?

I’ve only ever bought instant or rolled oats. I am considering taking the plunge and buying steel cut. I would like to know if I make a big pot of it on say Sunday, what day will it still be okay to eat if I keep it refrigerated?

I would love to know whether or not Lori is still taking 2000mg of Pantothenic Acid and if she experienced any hair loss while taking it? My acne is improving but I still get cysts around my chin and neck. I’m considering the B5 but so terrified of the potential hair loss I’ve read about. Did you notice your hair thinning at all? If you could recommend B5 over Cod Liver Oil which would you recommend first? Hope this gets to you πŸ™‚ xx

I have another question πŸ˜‰ Do you all ever eat red meat such as beef, or bison? I can’t recall ever seeing you all posting any “what I eat in a days” that include red meat. Also how do you prepare all of the turkey you eat and shouldn’t you be concerned with how the turkey is processed/raised?

I love all the above questions so I hope they get answered!
My question is what are your favourite essential oils and how do you use them or how have they helped you? I would prefer an answer different than “I like lemon because it smells good” ……I am looking more for answers that are not related to just their smell…….See, I recently bought lemon essential oil and peppermint. I read if you rub them on your belly it can help with constipation….have you had any luck with alternative uses….. I hope you understand what I mean πŸ™‚

Hello, Lori, how is your ab seperation going? have you got it closed (less than a finger wide?) Ive had three babies and have been working so hard on closeing my seperation which was initially 7 fingers wide!!! but its stuck on 3 fingers now, cant get it to close anymore πŸ™ its been a year! please id love to know if you close it and how long it takes you. i spend half an hour every 2 days on safe tummy exercises but to no avail!
