Madison hit her 6 week mark this past Saturday and I had my 6 week post partum check-up yesterday.
Madison is ready to go in the morning. She is ready to work 🙂
I can’t believe it’s been over 6 weeks since giving birth to Madison.
6 week update with baby Madison
I am starting to feel more at ease, like:Â I got this. Things are getting better each week! I love seeing Madison learn and grow each day. She is definitely becoming more vocal with all her newborn noises. I love it! And starting to smile a lot more too!!
I love my early morning time with her. She is always so awake and smiling.
She naps the best with her mid-morning naps (usually). Madison’s afternoon naps are sometimes short. Very short. She sometimes sleeps for 20 minutes then pops back up awake for a little bit before I try to get her to go back to sleep. As I know she is tired. Her witching hour seems to start usually around 4-5pm and goes anywhere from 6-7pm.
Side note: Sorry for the late post today. This morning was a little rough one. Just when I was saying how great our mornings have been going today we hit a fussy period around 10am or so. She woke up at 4:45am ready to eat, I nursed her, then she was awake for a little bit after that nursing and then went back to sleep for about 3 hours. Then she woke up and I nursed her again. After that she was still very playful all morning. Talkative and so happy. She fell asleep for about an hour then woke up crying. I checked her diaper. And changed her outfit for the day, but still crying. Walked her around the house trying to get her to calm down. Â I have noticed when she wakes up early from a nap she tends to be fussy. And on top of all this our AC guy comes to check on our unit. I thought he was supposed to come tomorrow, but showed up today. I did not have Jax ready so I was trying to grab Jax while calming down Madison as the AC guy came to the door. Fun times. I eventually got the whole situation calmed down but for 30 minutes it was rough. And I admit a little embarrassing with the AC guy here hearing her cry. I felt so bad for her. I think it was her having some gas issues. As Auntie Michelle did some bicycles with her and that always seems to help. Â Followed by another nursing. Now she is back asleep peacefully.Â
I put away all the newborn clothing into her closet and now have just 0-3 months out for her to wear. It was sad to put the newborn clothes away but also very exciting. I look forward to watching her grow. Â She is still wearing newborn and extra small cloth diapers, but I have a feeling it won’t be like that for that much longer.
I had my 6 week post partum check-up yesterday.
It went well. Doctor says everything looks great and I can go back to all my regular activities. I am cleared to workout again!! Yippie. Even though I have really enjoyed my last 6 weeks of taking it easy. Focusing on just walking with ab reconditioning exercises to strengthen my core from being stretched for so long. It needs a little extra help as I have a small gap, but I am hoping with working out again along with my reconditioning exercises everything will get back to normal over time. I am in no major rush to get back into tip top shape just yet. My focus is on staying healthy and strong for Madison and easing myself back into working out. I am looking forward to working out again as I love how working out makes me feel. Working out is my special time where I can relieve some stress and do something for myself. Purely fit sisters I can’t wait to workout with you again.Â
That’s it from me today.
We want to hear your purely thoughts:
What was it like for you when you hit the 6 week mark with your baby?
When did your baby smile at you? I am still waiting for that moment. Madison sometimes looks like she is looking at me and smiling, but I am not sure if she really is.
Any embarrassing moments happen to you recently?

Ah, I can’t get over how precious Madison is! She’s such a beautiful baby.
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling more at ease with everything!
Thank you!
She is SUCH a sweet baby!!! It’s funny… I never thought about it but it’s not like babies come with a manual. I bet it does take some time to get the hang of it!
so much time 😉 but it’s sooooo worth it. I read books but nothing gets your fully ready until you have the baby 🙂 She teaches me something everyday!! xo
I have adopted you in my heart. I really enjoy your video update. Did you make that gorgeous wall hanging in you office? I had to stop the video several times to get a really good look at it. If you didn’t make it where did you acquire it? Keep up the great work I am sure you are helping keep many people in their endeavors to live a healthy life. 🙂
Thanks girl, actually our mom mad the quilt hanging in our office!
