I think you mentioned in the past that you have had eating disorders (or one of you has? But if I am wrong, I am sorry — I haven’t read everything in the archives), but shouldn’t you not feel guilty about any foods? I totally get the idea of healthier desserts, but I am not sure I would ever classify dessert or anything else as something that would cause me guilt-ridden. What are your feelings on that, especially from the eating disorder standpoint?

Very cool list!! I can’t wait to click through and discover new recipes when I have good internet! One of my favorite desserts is Chocolate Covered Katie’s Mocha cookies. Yum! Also love your fried plantains! Oh so tasty, they remind me of fried bananas, one of my favorite dishes!

Hi girls, i really love your blog, there is always so much to learn from you and your experience about healthy and happy life! And your recipes are just… oh my god… mouth watering! They seem to be perfect for me, since i struggle with crohn’s disease and i need to find a way to eat healthy without losing my mind from the pain after each meal. I “felt in love” with your site as soon as i saw it for the first time and i also thought of buying your cookbook but then i noticed that you use a lot of plantains in your recipes. Now, the problem with that is that i’m a bulgarian girl who lives in south Italy and there is no such thing as Plantains here. Italians don’t know about it and i also first heard about its existence after reading one of your recipes. Is there any possible way i can substitute plantains? Is there something else i can use instead? Sweet potatoes may be? A butternut squash? I see they look pretty much like bananas, is it the same consistency?

Zornitsa glad you enjoy our site and recipes that means a lot to us!! The only cookbook that uses plantains is our 50 grain-free recipe one that is available off Amazon. Our other 3 cookbooks (Purely Classic recipes, Smores and No flour) do not use plantains but gluten-free flours. Sometimes green bananas can work in some of the recipes for plantains.
