I thought last week I was getting close to being a brand new mama, but now it’s less than a month away! Excitement, nervous, fear, happiness are just a few of the emotions I am feeling lately.
I have another doctor check-up this coming Thursday. I am feeling good. My energy is pretty good. I’ve been getting tired early in the evening and going to bed early, which is weird for me as that is usually not me.
Over the weekend my best friend had her baby shower. She is just a few weeks behind me!! She is having a baby girl too. I can’t wait for our little girls to grow up together 😉
While being home for a few days we enjoyed our parents’ pool. Jax loves to swim so he had a great time swimming all day long. Couldn’t get that dog out of the pool.
Now we are back home and getting things finalized over here. I still have to order my breast pump. I am planning to breastfeed but getting a breast pump to have just in case. Plus, it will be nice to let Gary and other family members feed baby M every once in awhile to bond together.
I finally got a baby drying rack to clean her bottles and other items. Love it.
I also have been working on a vlog about cloth diapers that I hope to have up soon. It’s a huge learning experience for me but I am excited about using them. More on that to come.
PREGNANCY WEEK 36 UPDATE:
Current food cravings?
I am loving chocolate. And eggs. And everything in between. I’m having the same cravings as last few weeks.
Most days I have been enjoying fresh juices. I usually add in some MCT oil to help aid in vitamin and mineral absorption.
I am loving all veggies and my coconut flour mini pancakes. I make them for lunch just about everyday.
I’ve been loving some sweet treats too. I take a few bites of raw cacao nibs and chocolate chips throughout the day whenever the chocolate cravings hit. YUM.
Some nights I have a little peanut butter with chocolate chips!
Any symptoms?
Nothing different compared to what I have mentioned before. I’m experiencing more gas, especially at night. Sometimes it gets a little uncomfortable as there isn’t much room for the gas to really move around easily.
Sleep is a hit or miss. Lately it has been a miss. I can’t seem to really sleep. Maybe it’s nerves and excitement. And my belly is larger so makes it more difficult to really get comfortable to sleep. Some nights I just stare at the clock. Waiting for morning to come. I should really just get up and do work or something.
Energy is doing alright. Like I mentioned earlier I have been getting tired earlier in the evening.
No major swelling. Wedding ring is still on.
Stretch marks?
Don’t really see any.
Miss anything?
Same as I have mentioned before.
How is your skin?
My skin is doing great! I do feel one small pimple is coming so I have been treating it with putting lavender essential oil on it to help prevent it from coming.
How is digestion?
Digestion is doing great. Bowel movements are doing alright. Some days they were a little slow moving. I have been eating resistant starch again in form of raw dehydrated green plantains and it has really helped with bowel movements (along with taking magnesium).
Total weight gain/loss?
Belly keeps getting bigger. I feel the same as last week. I am unsure of any additional weight gain until I get weighed at my doctor’s appointment later this week.
How is baby M doing?
She is doing great. She gets the hiccups every once in awhile. She doesn’t have much room to move around anymore (things are getting tight in there).
She is about the size of a honeydew.

I can’t believe baby M could be here soon. By the end of this week I am technically full term. Crazy.
Last night after getting in from traveling all I wanted to do was sleep and hang out in baby M’s nursery. I feel so at ease when I am in that room. Thanks again for following along my first pregnancy journey. I can’t wait to share more with you.
How was your weekend? Did you travel?
Do you like swimming?
What food are you craving or enjoying lately? Anyone else sneak in bites of chocolate when they can?
xo

Do you get sudden cravings or do you have to see or smell something to crave it?
Linda a mix of both. When I know a food is around I want it haha
I wonder how cravings work after the baby is born. I know women need to eat about an extra 500 calories a day to successfully produce enough milk to breastfeed. Is it just feeling extra hungry that drives women to eat enough to produce milk, or cravings… I do wonder!
it will be interesting to see what my body craves when baby M is here.
all belly! and love that you are in chocolate mode. totally a baby girl craving haha
haha yep – baby M loves her chocolate 😉
I love desserts!! Desserts are my biggest weakness when it comes to maintaining a healthy diet. So I appreciate the recipes (along with their calorie counts) to show me that I don’t have to eliminate my favorite things from my daily diet. Thank you! Keep blogging. I love reading the stories and hope we can get more stories with guys and their journey in fitness & dieting on here.
