35 weeks pregnancy update and babymoon beach pictures.
Getting so close!!! Less than 5 weeks to go! Crazy.
I am doing well over here. No major complaints, just minor things 😉
I am now going to the doctor’s for weekly check ups. I had one last Friday and one again tomorrow for my Group B streptoccus (GBS) test. Fun times. Overall these visits are just the doctor checking in on my weight, blood pressure, urine test, belly growth and baby’s heart beat. And of course asking how I am doing and if I am having any issues.
The doctor’s office that I go to has a few locations here in Charlotte and they rotate doctors… meaning I see a different doctor every time I go in. Although some times I have seen the same doctor. The crazy thing is I don’t know what doctor will be at my delivery. Weird to think about.
Last week Gary and I took a few days off for a mini babymoon vacation. Our last vacation together alone before our family grows to three.
Why take a babymoon?
It’s a great time to bond with my husband. Great for health and relaxation as pregnancy can be an anxious and sometimes stressful time. Â And really it’s just nice to take a time out. Time away from everything and just breathe.
A great way to take advantage of ‘us time’ before our life completely changes.
Anyone else go on a babymoon?
Gary’s parents have a beach condo on Surfside beach in South Carolina. South Myrtle beach area.
We arrived at lunch time at the beach. Went to the store and relaxed for the rest of the day.
Later that evening enjoyed a simple dinner out on the deck.
Pregnancy craving hit and got some TCBY for a post dinner treat. Gary got an oreo shiver while I got chocolate frozen yogurt topped with chocolate chips and cookie dough. My favs!! OMG this was soooo good!
Then it was family snuggle time on the couch.
Next morning it was time for Jax to run around on the beach for the first time.
Baby M’s first experience too.
Beautiful sunrise.
Lovely family morning playtime.
After a quick 12 minute workout it was time for coffee, raw chocolate biscotti and protein mush with peaches.
Decided to go out for lunch at a restaurant on the water and we brought Jax.
Pic on the left is lunch at restaurant. I only ate the filling. It was not the greatest so we decided to go to a local health food store to get more food. Enjoyed a chicken salad sandwich that we shared with beet apple side. Plus got a 8oz juice.
After researching dog friendly beaches in South Carolina area we found some and took Jax to run around more. It was south of Huntington Beach State Park.
Jax enjoyed every minute of it! I love seeing him so happy.
The beach was so beautiful. The beach went on for miles. And Jax could run around with no distractions. It was a perfect evening. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Day 2 sunrise! Another beautiful morning. I love sunrises.
I love getting up early to watch the sun come up. I sit there and soak it all in.
Next morning we found another dog friendly beach in the Garden City area where dogs were allowed off leash if well behaved. Luckily from all our dog training with Jax he is better off leash than on leash.
He once again enjoyed running around on the beach – chasing birds and running through the water.
After relaxing all afternoon we decided to go on a short family walk.
Walked by so many gorgeous houses that I would love to call mine one day. Nothing like working hard to achieve that 😉 Gotta dream big right? Who else would love a beach house?
Enjoyed a dinner out at a bistro nearby and we started with a goat cheese fig appetizer (delicious) and dinner was grouper with veggies. This was alright… kinda bland in flavor. The appetizer was the best part of dinner.
Next morning we enjoyed our last sunrise before traveling back to Charlotte.
Absolutely breathtaking. I miss that view! Â
Jax loving the beach. Seeing how much he loved it really makes me wish we lived near a beach!
We took our last family walk on the beach. Jax got to chase a few more birds.
Baby M loved the beach too. We all had a wonderful babymoon.
Before hitting the road we enjoyed our last beach breakfast. I made up my typical protein pudding with the addition of some raw cacao nibs and Enjoy Life chocolate chips to create a cookie dough style pudding. YUM!
PREGNANCY WEEK 35 UPDATE:
Current food cravings? Â
I am loving pickles and nutritional yeast again.
Besides that similar to what I mentioned last week. Everything sounds yummy to me and baby M. So far she hasn’t been too picky!
Any symptoms?
Nothing different compared to what I have mentioned before. Sometimes I get a little indigestion depending on what I am eating and how fast I eat it. Â No signs of labor. I get cramps more often now.
Sleep is a hit or miss. Some nights I toss and turn a lot. I am still getting up to go pee once or twice during the night. I feel baby M is sitting lower and on top of my bladder now.
Energy is okay. Not great. Nothing like it was a few weeks ago. I am still able to do everything I normally would be doing just not has energetic or as fast.
No major swelling. Wedding ring is still on.
Stretch marks?
Don’t really see any. I do my best to keep up with putting my homemade lotion on. I admit I miss a few days here and there.Â
Miss anything?
Same as last week. Missing my normal bouts of energy.
How is your skin?Â
My skin is doing great! No pimples! I am doing everything that I have mention before to help with my skin during pregnancy. I am so happy with how well my skin is doing and how I feel like my skin glows. Loving how my skin is handling everything. So proud of myself for keeping up with a good routine and staying positive about everything.
How is digestion?Â
Digestion is doing great. Bowel movements are doing alright. Some days they were a little slow moving. Trying to get myself back on track. But have a feeling with my hormones going crazy since I am getting closer to due date that things might get a little interesting over here.  Gotta love these pregnancy talks 😉
Total weight gain/loss?Â
Belly keeps getting bigger and bigger. Just when I feel it can’t get any bigger… it does! I gained about 2-3 pounds since my visit from 2 weeks ago. So I think I am around 15-20 lbs gained so far.
Enjoying my baby bump at the beach for our baby moon! Â A lot of belly over here!
How is baby M doing?
She is doing great. Love it when she has the hiccups. Since she is getting bigger her movements are intense.  Although she doesn’t have much room to maneuver.
She is about the size of a honeydew melon or pineapple depending on what site. I love hearing her heartbeat at every appointment. I always get a huge smile on my face. Love that sound!
NOW FOR MY PREGNANCY WORKOUTS FROM LAST WEEK:
If you would like more help with pregnancy workouts (pre, during and post) please come check our purely fit pregnancy. Come workout with me every day and I promise to keep you strong and healthy during your pregnancy so you can bounce back afterwards.  Promise I will keep it fun too.Â
Monday – did 12 minute purely bodyweight #6 (purely fit life club workout)  + 30 minute family walkÂ
Tuesday –  did 12 minute purely HIIT #9 (purely fit life club workout) + 30 minute family walk. Scorpion push-up was definitely modified some for that workout.Â
Wednesday –  20 minute family walk
Thursday – did purely training #73 -a butt leg workout
Friday – filmed the new purely training #76 our 20 minute arm workout.
Sunday – did some planking and kettlebell swings with a little yoga
I was able to get back into a good bit of walking this past week which felt great. I love walking.
My workouts are going great and still modifying some moves. My jumps are getting less and less intense. Most of the time I am omitting any major jumping. Â I focus more on doing side plank moves for less strain on belly but with keeping it strong. I try to keep up with my pregnancy stretches and sitting in low squat to prepare for labor.
I relaxed a lot on my babymoon which was perfect! I wish we could go again 😉
Do you like the idea of babymoon? Did you take a babymoon?
What was a highlight from your weekend? How is the weather in your area?
Who is ready for back-to-school season?

Looks like you had a great time! We are going to myrtle beach in a few weeks for our anniversary/babymoon! I can’t wait to relax on the beach.
yahoo!! enjoy your babymoon vacay 🙂 xo
You’re still so slim and fit throughout your pregnancy–it’s kind of inspirational!
thank you Linda 🙂 xoxo
You look like you’re doing great! Pickles are not just a cliche…honestly, women crave them. Enjoy! I always throw them into a cold potato salad (source of resistant starch! ). Yumm! It can be so difficult for many women who have a rotation of care providers. It’s hard to bond with one when you have no idea who will be at your birth! How does midwifery work in your state? In Canada we can work in the hospitals or at homes (depending on a woman’s choice) and have the same scope of practice as a Family Doctor who does obstetrics. It’s nice because you always know who will be at your birth 🙂 Just curious.
yay for pickles!! 😉
Glad you guys had such a nice trip! The pictures are fabulous. Wish I could have come up there and said hello! 🙂 You look adorable. I remember thinking there is NO way my tummy can get any bigger…the body is amazing!
thanks Erica!! Next time we will have to plan better so we can say hi 🙂 HUGS
Such a great idea with the Baby Moon 🙂 Haven’t heard about it before, but that’s totally something I’ll do for myself when that time comes. 5 weeks, I’m SO excited for you! A little weird though that they can’t tell you who will be the doctor! But hey they are all doctors for a reason, so sure they know how to handle baby M as she arrives 😉 xoxo
that is what I am hoping for 🙂 and thank you Marie!! xo
Yay! Babymoon! My hubby and I went to Mexico early in my second trimester, which was a good time for me to go. Flying wasn’t uncomfortable and neither was Mexico all that hot (it was February) nor was I too pregnant for the heat to bother me. I experienced a lot of firsts down there, like first kicks and my belly really popped while I was down there when I hit my 18 week mark.
Personally, I couldn’t do a rotating office like that. I went to a midwifery that had three midwives, but I only really saw two of them and because of that I got familiar and comfortable with them. I was sooo not down with the idea of having a stranger deliver my baby. I was still feeling quite bashful about having someone’s face all up in my downstairs. Turns out I needed a c-section and had a stranger take my baby out for me, BUT the wonderful thing about having a midwife I liked and was familiar with was that I had someone to hold my hands during my spinal and be by my side in the OR. Since I had to be put under (my spinal didn’t take) I never got to see my hubby until I came to in recovery, so her presence was much appreciated.
What a great update! The trip looks so refreshing and fun and I’m glad you three (4!) could get away. 🙂 Great meals, great sunsets and workout and moments shared…You look awesome and seem to be doing so well! Excited for you guys.
Thank you Bonnie!! We are excited too.
Such stunning pictures of the beach. You’re on the homestretch now…so exciting!
Thank you Jemma!
Lori you look so adorable!!!! Looks like an awesome trip. I wish we took a baby moon the first time around but it never happened. I can’t believe how close you are!!!
And I love Bubbies pickles 🙂
the best pickles 😉
I know crazy how we both are getting so close to the end. Thinking of you beautiful! xo
