{pregnancy} week 29 + nursery & bathroom updates + glucose results

Week 29 pregnancy update and glucose testing results.
lori week 29 i love my baby bump

Less than 11 weeks or so to go! I must say I am super excited for baby M to be here. It’s funny Michelle and I always joke around in saying baby M where are you? Why are you not here? We want to play with you. I love how excited Michelle is for baby M to be here… she is going to be a great aunt. Or should I say my full time nanny 😉

Gary has been super amazing as well. He has been working so hard to get baby M’s bathroom and nursery all ready. I have some exciting updates to share with you in terms of the bathroom and nursery. Plus at the end of post I share my glucose results.

Check out how the bathroom remodeling is coming along… almost done with it. We just have to install the toilet. And then I can I finally start decorating it!!!

new tile for girls bathroom

Love the new tile!

new vanity and mirror for bathroom purelytwins

In love with the vanity that we ordered online from Lowe’s.

Gary and Michelle installed it. Plus got the mirror from Home Goods here locally for like $20-30!

purely twins bathroom renovation update

Overall so happy with how well the bathroom is turning out!

It feels so fresh and clean… perfect for baby M 😉

We’ve also been busy with the nursery. Well, more like building things for baby M and organizing the room.

gary building swing

Gary’s already a great dad!

gary building

It was fun putting together new toys and swings for baby M to enjoy.

baby swing

Love it all. I can’t wait to see baby M playing with everything and sitting in her new swing!

More pics of the nursery in the daylight.

baby nursery rocker for baby girls room

The rocker which I mentioned before here.

baby girl white crib and dresser

The crib and dresser plus quilts that my mother made for baby M! Love them all.

baby girls nrusery room

The room is coming along. Finally cleaned out the closets with Gary last night.

baby girls nursery progress

Now figuring out what pictures to hang on walls in the nursery and rest of house… finally!! This has been on my list to-do for months.

baby swing and stroller

Right now we are using the nursery to store all the baby related items.

fisher price snugapuppy cradle swing for baby nursery

And as you saw we put together the Fisher-Price® My Little Snugapuppyâ„¢ Cradle N’ Swing last night. Overall easy to put together and I absolutely love it! We got the snugapuppy one for big brother Jax haha.  Thanks to my best friend Alyson in getting baby M this!

vizsla checking out baby closet

Jax checking everything out. He is still unsure of what everything is.

jax helping with folding baby clothes

Plus I did a round of laundry of baby M’s first clothes that I received from the baby shower.

vizsla helping fold baby clothes purelytwins

Jax of course had to be present. Vizslas are such great laundry helpers.

vizsla sleeping on baby clothes

They love to lie over all the clean clothes!!  What a nice big brother 😉

It was exciting for me to wash her baby clothes. I know weird. But for some reason it was really relaxing for me. Plus I love baby clothes. They are just so darn cute! I enjoyed folding and putting the clothes in their homes in the nursery. I am trying my best to organize the clothes according to months like new borns, 3-6 months and 9-12 months clothing together.  My mom is coming up soon so I know she will be able to help me organize everything better.

week 29 pregnancy update purelytwins

PREGNANCY WEEK 29 UPDATE:

Current food cravings?

The typical pickles and ice cream. So stereotypical for pregnancy, I know. But it’s true. I am also really enjoying my daily normal eats. Nothing too crazy or wild over here. I know boring. Sorry I don’t have any crazy food cravings to share with you.

Here is what I ate yesterday.

half caff bulletproof coffee

Half caff bulletproof coffee.

protein sludge

Along with my protein powder and gelatin mush with fermented cod liver oil, coconut oil and some raw local honey. Our version of frosting 😉

Little bit later I did my workout for the day.

random lunch

Lunch was steamed broccoli, sautéed arugula, broccoli slaw, liverwrust from US Wellness meats (our favorite), sliced raw local peaches (so good), and a serving of a new low-carb bread! This recipe will be up on blog tomorrow!

chocolate frosting

Afternoon snack after a walk was more gelatin mixed with coconut oil and raw cacao with a few drops of stevia. Chocolate frosting in a way!

simple dinner

I enjoyed a lovely dinner of baked fresh salmon with sautéed local greens (kale and swiss chard), arugula, small handful of white potatoes, raw shredded carrot, coconut oil, olive oil and apple cider vinegar.

ice cream

And some ice cream. I tried Three Twins vanilla ice cream. My first time having this brand of ice cream and overall it was good. Light and great flavor. But Michelle and I realized we are gelato girls.

Any symptoms?

Similar issues as last few weeks. Belly still itches all the time – it feels like. I usually rub coconut oil with lavender essential oil on it to help. My sleeping is good. I tend to go pee twice during the night now. I always have my diffuser going to help me sleep. Love that thing! I sleep so great with it on.  I am trying my best to sleep on left side. I don’t have any fancy pregnancy pillows. I never bought one. Debating if I should get one or not.

No bloating or any major swelling yet. Sometimes I feel I have swelling around my feet.

I am still wearing my wedding ring.

Stretch marks?

Don’t really see any new ones.

I must admit I am not a fan of linea nigra (the dark vertical line on belly).  #pregnancyissue

Miss anything?

Nothing too major. Just the same that I mentioned a few weeks ago.

How is your skin?

My skin is doing great! No major complaints!

I got one really small pimple on right upper check area. But after putting some lavender and sandalwood essential oil as spot treatment and using geranium on my whole face for two days it is pretty much gone. I am so happy to see how well my face is loving essential oils. I hope my skin continues to remain great during the rest of my pregnancy!

How is digestion?

Digestion is doing well. My bowel movements have been great! I was a little constipated from traveling but that only really last one or two days. Now my body is going again every morning and sometimes twice a day. I know TMI but hey this stuff is important to me! And I feel important for everyday good health!!

baby bump at 29 weeks pregnancy

Total weight gain/loss?

Same thoughts as last week.

Belly is growing!  And I am feeling great. I don’t really keep track of my daily weight as I don’t have a scale at home. I know my body will do what it needs.

How’s baby M?

Baby M is doing well as far as I can tell. We have another check up appointment next week so we will know for sure. She is about the size of a butternut squash or cabbage head depending on what pregnancy site I read that day.

Her kicks are getting harder. Sometimes her kicks startle me. I will be just sitting at my computer or in the kitchen prepping food and she kicks. Hard. I jump. Fun times. Oh the pregnancy life memories she and I are creating. I love every minute of it. Although, it is bad of me to say that I am getting to the point of wanting this pregnancy to be over. I love it all so far, but having 11 more weeks seems short but sometimes it seems like forever too. Any other moms out there experience similar feelings towards the end?

pregnancy workout purelyfitlife with purelytwins

I am feeling great in my workouts. I feel so blessed to be able to stay active during my pregnancy.

Yes my pace as slowed down a lot. I still look forward each day to my workouts as they do provide me with mental clarity and energy for the day.

NOW FOR MY PREGNANCY WORKOUTS FROM LAST WEEK:

If you would like more help with pregnancy workouts (pre, during and post) please check our purely fit pregnancy. Come workout with me every day and I promise to keep you strong and healthy during your pregnancy so you can bounce back afterwards.  Promise I will keep it fun too.

Monday – rest day as it was travel home day

Tuesday –  eased myself back into my usual home workouts with doing purely training #11 + 15 minute walk

Wednesday- did 2 rounds of purely training #25 and 2 rounds of purely training #23 + 20 minute walk

Thursday – filmed the new purely training #70 workout. Overall felt great during this workout.

Friday – filmed a new purely fit life club workout – purely HIIT #14 – 16 minute workout.  I had great energy during this workout.

Saturday – active rest day

Sunday – did purely training lucky 7 workout first thing in the morning. I felt great during this workout but I was not able to go as deep in some of the exercises. I was still able to keep a similar time as the first time doing the workout which I am pretty happy about since I am now 29 weeks pregnant.

pregnancy squats purelytwins purelyfitlife

I love working out even being pregnant. I never over do it. I always honor and listen to my body. And thanks to my purely fit sisters who inspire me and motivate me everyday to do what I love to do. Thank you. I have a feeling my workouts over the next few weeks will be slowing down more so I am enjoying them as I am still able to do them.

And I have passed my glucose meter at home testing.

I tested for about 10 days or so. And my doctor liked my numbers and said I was good. I will continue to check my readings about once a week or so just to make sure my numbers are still good. I am so happy with how my glucose testing went and proud of myself for sticking up to what I believe in by refusing the drink. Remember friends you don’t have to drink that orange drink… you have options for glucose testing.

One piece of advice I do have for future moms-to-be is to talk to your doctor early about the glucose testing. I discussed my concerns about the week before my ‘scheduled’ date of drinking the drink with my doctor. I wish I had talked to him weeks beforehand. Remember to do your own research and listen to your heart. Do what feels right for you as we are all different and require different needs. But the glucose monitoring at home was great. Pricking my finger a few times a day turned out not to be as bad as I thought it would be.

And totally worth it as I learned even more about my body and how certain foods react with it. Eating meals mostly of fats and proteins with moderate carbs has been so beneficial for me. My numbers were also low with my fatty and protein based meals. It was fun to see how carbs and how much carbs made my body react. Fascinating. Guess I am a nerd for thinking stuff like that is interesting, but to me it is 🙂

Anyways, that is my update on my pregnancy. Again I am feeling so blessed and happy with everything. And I am excited for the future!!  Thanks for reading. xoxo

So cute!!! Everything look great and your bump is adorable… You will bounce back super fast when the baby is here. And I think the fat/protien results are fascinating too! Just goes to show that our bodies function the best with healthy fat intake.

OMG that swing will literally save your sanity! My son loves it and loves to grab the ears on the pillow! He loves to nap in there and I gradually stop the swinging motion once he’s asleep.
I also loved to wash and organize the baby clothes, and weirdly enough, I still do! Enjoy every day, good and bad!! You’re looking amazing!

I can definitely relate to all of this, I love being pregnant so much but I am now looking forward to him arriving and admittedly, being able to get my body back to myself, although I wouldn’t have it any other way of course 🙂 Baby kicks are the best thing ever aren’t they! Right now it’s fairly warm here in the UK (at least by our standards) so I’m not exactly enjoying that right now, but I do love my bump to bits and as much as I’m looking forward to him being born I guess I’ll miss it as well.

I love that you have the typical pickles and ice cream cravings! Mine were a bit more random… I wasn’t into pickles, but I did love sauerkraut off and on for most of it. And yes! I think it’s totally normal in the 3rd trimester to start to feel ready to be done. I’m definitely there now! But I can’t complain- I’ve felt good and am happy that I could stay active and feel “normal” in that way. Oh- also, I never bought the fancy pillows either, but I use one between my knees and sometimes one between my elbows or under my belly and it’s worked great!

it’s funny I loved sauerkraut first trimester but the 2nd and 3rd I don’t seem to want it, haha. So glad these feelings are normal 🙂 Thanks for the pillow ideas, I will have to try some out! xoxo

So great reading your updates! I am 3 weeks behind you in my pregnancy and am loving seeing how wonderfully yours is progressing and how healthy & strong you still are. You are a great inspiration to all the mums out there and thank you for your honesty, openness & candidness with all this stuff. It’s hard to be honest when you feel that sometimes others expect perfection, nothing less. Keep being awesome & growing that amazing little human.

THRILLED to hear about your digestion. I’ve heard pregnancy horror stories when it comes to digestion! LOL… But I am not surprised you have it under control! What an exciting time. I am seriously getting goosebumps from excitement for you!

I’m in my first trimester and I’m so glad you post things about digestion during pregnancy! It is a completely legit issue! Are you doing anything extra in particular as your pregnancy progresses? I’m struggling to keep my regular fiber sources down lately due to nausea…

I’ll be 29 weeks tomorrow, and I totally get the feeling of things going fast, pregnancy wise, but also super slow at the same time. I’m so ready to be done being pregnant, but I’m also scared to death of giving birth.
You are looking great and truly rocking your pregnancy. I’ve been posting my workouts too, over on my blog, fitnessinthekitchen.us, if you ever want to check them out.

I get scared at moments sometimes when I think of birth, but then I also try to tell myself it’s the natural thing for my body to do and the less I stress or get tense over it the better the experience will be. Luckily I have a good support team that will help keep me calm to help 🙂 xoxo
