Thanks to everyone who commented, facebook messaged, tweeted and emailed me ideas and thoughts about not needing a changing table in nursery.
After going through everyone’s comments and suggestions I decided to get a dresser for the room. I was not really planning on it as again there are two closets in the room. But after deciding on going the cloth diaper route I felt like I needed the storage space. I have been also taking in all your comments and suggestions on baby registry items (again thank you) and have made great progress on my registry. I will share more on that at another time for those that are interested in what I am putting on my registry.
One of the things I was researching last night was bassinet vs moses basket? That is one of the last things I am still trying to figure out. I do have a crib that I am getting but know it will be too big for her at first. After talking with a few friends I decided to go the moses basket route and a stand to go with it.
I wanted to share with you my favorite pregnancy and baby related books that I have read or am still reading. I have actually gotten a few emails and comments about what books I recommend so I gathered up my favorites so far. Plus I share some other ones that I am considering on reading.
Here are the ones I have read:
Your Best Birth – about halfway through this one, has some interesting things to think about. I like knowing all my options.
Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth – love the mind/body connection talk in this book. I still have a little bit more to read in this one.
Super Nutrition for Babies – this book guides you through when to start feeding your child whole foods and what ones to do first. Also provides some recipes.
Primal Moms – great resource. I actually got this book before I got pregnant and learned so much.
Beautiful Babies – great book, love the recipes and how it focuses on real foods.
The Doula Guide to Birth: Secrets Every Pregnant Woman Should Know – just started this one that I got via Kindle version. I don’t have too much to say about it but I have heard it is a great book to learn things.

I haven’t gotten into any magazines yet. I follow a few mom sites and pinterest boards that provide good information.

pregnancy week 20 update:
Current food cravings?
Eggs still always sound good and chocolate. Those two-bite brownies are hitting the spot as I finished them off in 3 days. Besides that nothing really has been a true craving. I am getting back into fresh green juices as those are sounding refreshing again to me.
One thing that I don’t seem to be eating much anymore as I can’t seem to really stomach it is sauerkraut. Weird I know as I usually love eating it. But the past few days when I try to eat it I can’t finish my meal. I still enjoy fermented veggies most days.
Breakfast. Never gets old though I am thinking of trying some new things for breakfast.
Michelle and I are experimenting with eating more resistant starch in our diet. Snacked on a few raw dehydrated plantain chips.
Bulletproof coffee. Missing my MCT oil as we ran out and waiting for it to arrive. I’ve been making it with just plain coconut oil. Not as good as the MCT oil when blended up with ghee. It’s kinda funny as I love coconut oil but for some reason MCT oil tastes better in the coffee.
Post-workout fresh green juice (half granny smith apple, celery, kale, parsley, dandelion leaves, fresh ginger and lemon).
Next was white rice mixed with canned salmon (with bones and skin), one egg and coconut oil.
Snacked on a few grain-free two-bite brownies. Finished them off as the rest I enjoyed over the weekend. I always feel bad when I eat something with chocolate as Michelle can’t have any on her cleanse. I know she misses it as we are chocolate girls.
Late afternoon snack was another resistant starch experiment — raw green banana protein pudding. OMG. So good. Loved the texture the green banana provided this pudding. Can’t wait to make again. I added in some perfect fit protein, coconut milk, stevia, turmeric and cinnamon to the pudding.
Dinner was a little avocado, sautéed kale, baked mahi mahi, fermented veggies, and coconut flour egg pancake all topped with turmeric, sea salt and coconut oil.
Dessert is un-pictured treat of a new recipe Michelle and I have been working on.
Nothing major. Sorry I am boring. But this pregnancy so far has been a joyful experience. My sleep is alright. Some good nights and a few bad ones where I just toss and turn it feels like. Some days (happens randomly) I do feel a little light-headed and nausea in the morning but doesn’t last long.
Wedding ring is still on. No extra bloating or any other issues. Some days I do feel a little more gasy than others.
None that I have noticed.
I still have my usual energy majority of the time. The thing this past week that I have noticed is that my energy is not the same pre-pregnancy. A little hard to explain. It’s just like I have a different type of energy now compared to before. Sometimes I do notice my pace slowing down. I am usually a fast walker but lately my pace is slowing.
How is your skin?
My skin is doing good. Not amazing, but good. Most of my blemishes from prior weeks are going away. Getting smaller at least. I am grateful for how well my face has been handling this pregnancy. Guess it’s from all the things I did prior to help my skin be ready for this and the things I continue to do (from a few products, good diet and exercise and reducing stress).
My back is the same. Trying some new things on it to see if I see any improvements. I will report back with any findings as I know some of you are suffering from the same issue. It’s not fun, I still plan on wearing tanks and dresses this summer even if I have a few back blemishes and just pray that no one else notices them.
How is digestion?
Digestion during the week is always really great. I have great bowel movements just about every day. There is usually one day that I don’t really go. I am still taking my magnesium twice a day and sometimes three times. All depends.
My appetite is the same. I am still eating about the same as I normally do with some days I might have a snack: lately it’s been with two-bite brownies. I do enjoy a sweet treat a few nights a week. Gotta love recipe testing.
Total weight gain/loss?
Feeling the same overall but belly has grown some. So know I have gained some from that. I go to the doctor’s next week so I will know then for sure how much. I do feel like I have gained some weight.
How’s the baby?
She is doing good!! Baby M is about the size of a carrot being three-quarters of a pound and about 10 1/2 inches long. Baby’s eyebrows and lids are present now.
I think I have experienced some flutters but not really sure.
Now for my pregnancy workouts from last week:
Most days I got up and did 10 minutes of rebounding (some days I have done 12 minutes) and some light stretching/foam rolling. Walked most days and did my 5 minute warm-up routine before each day I exercise.
Monday – was an active rest day, did some yoga and went for 45 minute walk
Tuesday- filmed a new leg workout for online club plus 45 minute walk
Wednesday – did plus pull-ups and 45 minute walk
Friday- filmed a new 16 minute purely training arm workout plus pull-ups and one hour walk
Saturday- did 5 rounds of purely training #61 before heading out of town – love that workout.
Overall I am doing great with my workouts. I still enjoy my daily workouts especially on the days when I feel great and I’m able to work hard.
For the most part I am still able to keep up with Michelle and the rest of the Purely Fit family members. I have a feeling though my pace is going to start slowing down over the next few weeks.
