{pregnancy} week 19: what I ate yesterday

by purelytwins

I am still utterly excited over here that I am having a little girl.

I can’t stop thinking of things I want to get for her. How I can’t wait to hold her in my arms. See that little smile. Pure excitement. Gary is super excited too. I’ll admit he is a little nervous in having a girl, but I think he will do just fine. Any father-daughter advice out there 🙂

My past few days have been great! Michelle’s and my parents were in town for the weekend. We love it when they visit. Not only do we get to be wined and dined but we usually get lots of house projects done. We are trying to get some things finished around the house before the little one shows up as when she does – no more house work will get done for a long time. The room that is going to be the nursery is painted; now it just needs furniture and decorations.

The major project we are working on is the baby’s bathroom (guest bathroom too). The ugly wall paper has been torn off and walls are just about ready for painting. Gary and my dad changed out the light fixture and we got a new mirror for the bathroom. We still need to put down tile and change out the vanity, which we are hoping to get done here soon!

I am just a few days into my week 19 of being pregnant and so far pregnancy has been nice to me. A few minor symptoms but again overall I am feeling very blessed and grateful. I am doing my best to cherish each day. I do have some down days where my mood and energy are blah. Luckily Michelle is around to help out and get things done. Thanks sis.

Current food cravings?

Eggs. Ham sandwiches. I know weird. But I’ve been craving ham. And over the weekend I enjoyed two amazing ham sandwiches plus another one yesterday.

Here is what my day looked like yesterday in terms of what I ate–>

coconut oil frosting

Started my morning with bulletproof half caff with a gelatin coconut oil frosting mush. Fellow purely fitters know what this is as it’s pretty much how I start most days.

lunch plate pregnancy ham sandwich

After a quick 14 minute cardio workout it was time for lunch. A plate of homemade sauerkraut, with my last bit of ham slices served with plantain bread that I cooked on the skillet. Delicious.

kombucha safe for pregnancy

Late afternoon after my walk it was time for some gingerade kombucha.

random snack

Plus felt like a little mush. Again I know weird but it hits the spot for me. A mix of coconut oil, gelatin and carob.

grilled salmon plantains veggies tahini dinner

Dinner was grilled coho salmon, with a few plantain chips, sautéed greens cooked in coconut oil, fermented veggies topped with sea salt and tahini.

Pretty standard day of eats for me lately. Though over the weekend I did eat a few fun things like calamari (first time really having it, and it was pretty good) and ice cream.

And this past weekend I did not do a good job in putting my feet over my head. But I am getting back into that this week as I feel it will help in the long run.

Any symptoms?

Nothing major. My sleep has been all over the place. Some nights I get pretty good sleep while other nights I toss and turn a lot. I get up now twice to go pee during the night. I have noticed this past week that I tend to use the restroom more frequently. I never noticed it really before but this week I seem to always be peeing.

Still having some nasal congestion. My lower abdominal aches some due to being stretched.

My mood is filled with excitement. I am excited for the next few months of carrying my little girl and eventually holding her.

Wedding ring is still on. Some of my clothes like jeans and a few shirts are starting to get a little too tight. Just might have to go shopping soon.

 Stretch marks?

None that I have noticed.

Miss anything?

Sleeping through the entire night without waking up. I am usually a very heavy sleeper so not really sleeping is new to me in a way.

How is your skin?

My skin is doing alright. Have lots of small blemishes here and there over face. Little red pumps, usually makeup helps. I am still dealing with two large pimples that are still hanging around. I hope they go away soon. Overall though I am still very pleased with how my skin is doing during this pregnancy as that was a huge fear of mine due to my past skin issues. I am hoping that each week my hormones and body will work together so I can have that glowing pregnancy skin.

My tummy and calves go through periods of itching.

How is digestion?

Digestion is normal.  Eating about the same.

Bowel movements have been good. They slowed down a little bit over the weekend but getting back to having good success in the bathroom department. Some days I go more than others. Bloating is not too bad either.

Total weight gain/loss?

Feeling the same.

baby clothes

Over the weekend I bought my first baby related purchases… these were too cute not to get!

 How’s the baby?

Baby is about the size of an heirloom tomato. Some sites say a size of a mango.

Baby’s brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch. Her arms and legs are now properly proportioned.

Still no movements yet. I am waiting for that day to come.

I am still feeling great most days during my workouts. Some days I have more energy than others. I am still able to do most exercises that I was able to do prior to being pregnant with just a few modifications.  I always look forward to my workouts each day. They provide me with such energy and self-confidence during this pregnancy.

Now for my pregnancy workouts from last week:

Most days I got up and did my 10 minutes of rebounding (some days I have done 12 minutes) and some light stretching/foam rolling. Walked most days and did my 5 minute warm-up routine before each day I exercise. Again most of the workouts are found inside our online club.

Monday –  filmed a new 18 minute leg workout (club workout) plus 30 minute walk

Tuesday-  practiced headstands and did purely HIIT #9 club workout with 25 minute walk

Wednesday – filmed purely training #60 a 12 minute workout plus 15 minute walk

Thursday- did purely bodyweight #3 club workout plus 25 minute walk

Friday-  filmed a new time challenge body weight workout that took me 13 minutes

Saturday- active rest day – 30 minute walk

Sunday- rest day

What I am looking forward to?

Feeling my little girl kick.

And I am starting to research car seats and other baby related items. I know I have time but I’m just in the mood to start to figuring some things out as there are a lot of companies and products out there to sort through.

xo

So, so beautiful! And I’m just so excited for you that it’s a little girl… all the daddy instincts will kick in and he will be amazing. 🙂 Hope you feel her soon! With my first, it was around 20 weeks. This time I felt the first flutters at 13 weeks, crazy!

thanks Laura 🙂 my doctor said she felt her baby around 21-22 weeks, so that makes me feel better that I might be a little late in feeling her! xoxo

Lori!!!!! Hope everything continues to go well. Tell you husband he will be great. I have 2 little girls now (5 and 1) and they can do anything a boy can do and more!! Just an FYI though, be ready to be second fiddle to the baby because once that little girl is in his arms he will have a tough time doing anything without her first:) Tell the family hello!!1 We will be at the wine and dine half marathon at Epcot in November.
