Pumpkin cookie cake + Thanksgiving food + Black Friday

by purelytwins

Hey luvs,

Are you still full from yesterday? haha We are…although we are excited to eat leftovers today!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family. Our day started early, we managed to get our 10 minute cardio in before our little niece arrived.

Somehow we managed to take very few pictures of our day. Our hands were either holding our niece, throwing toys for the dogs, cleaning dishes, making food, cleaning more dishes, etc.

Everyone came over for hearty rich breakfast.  Then it was time to get in the kitchen.

drinks

Sipped on mimosa while we got all the food ready. We enjoyed grapefruit based, while everyone else enjoyed orange juice, which were all freshly squeezed.

We took our pumpkin coconut flour chocolate chip cookies and made into a cookie cake.

It worked beautifully!!

Fire by the pool 🙂 It has been chilly here in south FL.

thanksgiving dinner Then it was time to eat.

We cooked up – honey citrus glazed ham (ham we bought from us wellness meats) oven roasted turkey, smoked grilled turkey, twice cooked brussel sprouts, baked kabocha squash, sauteed red cabbage, plantain bread stuffing,  and sourdough bread (store bought).

brusselsprouts

Twice cooked brussel sprouts.

We did something different. Here is what we did: First we steamed up the brussel sprouts.  Second placed them on a baking tray and coated them in coconut oil and some dried rosemary. Third baked them in oven at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Perfectly cooked brussel sprouts!

We also made a vegan broccoli casserole!!  We will share the recipe soon as everyone loved it.

It was a tweak to an old recipe of ours.

Sorry we forgot to take pictures of the full dessert spread. But we did make a family recipe of a traditional pumpkin pie that everyone enjoyed, while us girl enjoyed some raw pumpkin chocolate pie.

I have both of the cookbooks, but I can’t find the recipe for pumpkin coconut flour chocolate chip cookies. Is it in a substitution note and I’m missing it? They look so delicious!

My Thanksgiving was great! I did all the cooking, so I was pretty exhausted. It was worth it, though, and the food was great. I stuffed myself, food coma-ed, and then ate some more dessert! 🙂

Wow I guess I haven’t visited your blog in a while. I thought you girls used to be high-raw vegans so it’s really weird to see turkey and ham here.

Catherine we have not been high raw vegans in over 2 years. We now do not restrict ourselves anymore, just eat what feels right to us now. Our diet is always changing. We do NOT label the way we eat. We just focus on real whole foods.

you are right, about 2 years ago we were but we had major health issues that we had to change the way we ate.
