little red and big bad wolf

by purelytwins

Hello friends,

Last week we traveled down to Orlando for a few days to work with Raw Threads Athletics at the Disney Tower of Terror 10 miler race expo.  Many of you that have been following us for a long time now know that we work part-time with our sisters athletic bamboo apparel company at some of the fitness expos. Michelle usually goes to more races than me, but this time I was there for the action.

in airport

Sipped on some starbucks as we waited for our ride to pick us up from airport.

more plantain bread

Snacked on plantain bread with coconut oil for a quick lunch.

lori set up day

Then it was time to set-up the booth.

set up

Set-up day is a long day. Fun to hang up and layout the booth, but it takes a lot of time. Especially with so many designs and clothing to get hung.

michelle in booth

But we are still all smiles by the end of it.

twins working out in booth

We even did a few push-ups and lunges in the booth 😉  Love being able to squeeze in a little movement when we can.

Our mom made white curtains for each corner of the booth to help bring some color to the booth with black lights giving the light. The whole booth turned out beautiful. We were so proud.

more booth

Loved all the new designs our sister designed. Especially the mustache racer. If you know about the rave about mustache you will adore those shirts!

more booth pics

Raw Threads booth turned out great. And everyone loved the glow in the dark running shirts, especially since the race was at night!

our dinner plate

After a long day of setting up we were hungry for dinner! Salmon with plantains and brussel sprouts coated with tahini!! So good!

workouts morning

The next morning before we had to get ready for day number one of selling at the expo, so we woke up early to get a mini workout in. We did a round of our 100 rep challenge from our purely fit life home workout program and some kettlebell swings with dumbbells with a little bit of planking.

Short and simple.

breakfast morning

Our breakfast was black coffee, one hard boiled egg, some plantain bread, and our perfect fit coconut oil gelatin mush.  Nice hearty breakfast to keep us full all day long.

Day one here we go.

smoke fog

Disney even had some smoke fog to provide as nice spo0ky feel to the expo.

A few last minute walk rounds to make sure everything was in place.

socks and headbands

Bamboo socks (love love love) and sparkly bow bamboo headbands (love love love).  The bow headbands are new and they turned out amazing.

cute headband

Adorable aren’t they? A great accessory for any running or workout outfit! And they are comfortable enough to wear everyday.

twins day one

Day one outfits were some new designs – Michelle little red riding and Lori big bad wolf.

The backs were super cute too.

back of shirts

Think we found our halloween costumes 🙂

They glow in the dark too!! Perfect!

more booth pics

Day one of the expo was crazy. The first few hours were nuts. People everywhere. But all in all it was a great day with no major issues. Disney did a great job with traffic flow and everything seemed to go very smoothly.

twins day 2

Day two outfits: Lori mermaid and Michelle pirate girl. We did not get a chance to really take many pictures. As day 2 was crazy and had to take down the booth. Which is a long process as well. But we had a great time at the Disney Tower of Terror race!!

We did not run the race on Saturday night. We were exhausted. Maybe next year we will.

more food

We kept our dinners each night simple and pretty much the same – Plantains, coconut oil, tahini, canned tuna or salmon and brussel sprouts. One night we did have an avocado. Sunday morning we did enjoy some bacon.

plantains breads

We made plenty of plantain bread. So addicting and oh sooo good.

We enjoyed a few different varieties of our plantain bread. Perfect!!

running sprint shoes

And to end the long few days down in Disney we went out for a short 8 minute sprint interval to work the body some. It’s amazing from just standing straight for 10+ a day for a few days in a row really makes you tired. But going for a sprint really helped loosen things up.  To our purely fitters hope you enjoyed your sprint cardio session too!

Overall we had a great weekend working, plus it is always great to see the older sis! She works so hard, she inspires us everyday to keep working hard for our dreams.

Twins Question: How was your weekend? Ever ran a night race? Do you know your halloween costume yet?

I hope Jax gets a Halloween costume, even if he only wears it long enough to snap a picture 😉

Oh my, it really is strange how standing in place can wear you body out so much more than just moving around a little all day. I remember my days as a cashier always left me way more worn out than when I was on the floor as a server (we alternated shifts).

Btw, both of you are getting some lovely am definition! Here is to hoping your program helps build my muscles up, too 😀

purelytwins October 8, 2013 - 10:12 am

oh yes Sara I need to start planning out something for Jax to wear 🙂
and thank you, and yes stick with it and over time you will get there with building up more muscles!! hugs

Adorable outfits! I am in love with the headbands! Too cute.

purelytwins October 8, 2013 - 12:39 pm

thank you Taylor 🙂 we normally aren’t really headband girls so we were surprised how much we liked them.

I’ve never run a night race, but I’d like to! My friends and I wanted to do one called Winterstart this year, but it ended up being sold out before we could register. So we decided that we’ll do our own (haha).

As for Halloween costumes, I’m going to two parties. So one I’m going as Cher, and the other some girlfriends and I are doing the Clockwork Orange droogs. Should be fun! I love dressing up.

thanks for sharing, girls! i still can’t stop thinking of your dinner last night with the rice and tahini i imagine tahini on everything would be so good. i think i need to make a batch of rice. and another batch of your plantain bread as i am in agreement with you, it’s addicting! very addicting! what variations were you talking about? i only made the one with plantain and egg before. which did you make over the course of your weekend? i had a great weekend with friends and my boyfriend. i saw a friend of mine by surprise who lives more than 40 hours away from me, so it was so nice to catch up with her.
