Today’s Purely Talk we are answering a question that we received from a few of our readers.
How do we pick what shoe to wear in our workouts? Or in our case why do we workout in no shoes most of the time.
Why do we workout in our bare feet?
If you follow along our youtube workout videos and if you are in our purely fit life program you will see we workout mostly in our bare feet. Yes you read that correctly. We like barefooting.
Hope you guys enjoy finding out more about why we workout in bare feet. We know this guy is a fan of working out barefoot and we know a lot of bloggers that love their Vibram five fingers where they use the concept of minimalism. And we are all about minimalism around here. Simple is better for us. And coming to our shoes or no shoes is no different.
Although there are other types of footwear we do wear like to wear in our workouts too.
Like our Vibram five fingers.
Good old tennis shoes. We have a few brands that we love: Nike Frees to Reebox Real Flex. Plus like Mizuno shoes too.

Troubles in the feet can lead to pains in the back and pains in the head.
(I too work out in barefeet though…but only on soft surfaces)

we don’t have much arch problems so feel right now our archs are support. glad to hear you workout barefoot too.
When I workout at home, barefoot is the way to go. I feel as if I have more balance and control 🙂 When I run, I wear my beautiful Asics. They’re old person shoes but they’re so comfy and they offer great support!
i’ve never tried vibrams or other “toe shoes” but i like working out barefoot for yoga or pilates or barre! in the gym i just tend to wear sneakers i’ve been sent through blogging. i’m very fortunate to own many pairs! and every single one i like, though some work better for one form of workout than others.
When I workout at home (usually circuits), I always workout barefoot, unless my circuit contains a lot of high impact moves, like high knees. With a tile floor, this can hurt my feet after a while! I’d honestly probably workout barefoot at the gym if they’d let me (just not on the cardio machines…it seems like that could hurt!). I just feel more balanced when I’m barefoot…almost better connected, if that makes sense! But I’ve never tried running barefoot. I love my Brooks Pure Flows!

I workout barefoot too! Unless I’m outside or on the treadmill. I need to get some vibrams cause My feet feel better when I’m barefoot than when I’m in a workout shoe.
