Hello luvs,
First we wanted to say Happy July 4th to all our fellow Americans 🙂 And happy belated Canada Day to all our Canadian friends! We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday! And for our #purelypower #purelyfitlife peeps hope you all enjoy your day off!
Now today’s recipe highlights aren’t necessarily red, white and blue inspired but they are definitely great to enjoy this holiday. And really any day during these hot summer days! Silly us that we have not really created a red, white and blue inspired recipe – bad twins… maybe next year 😉
We love looking back at old recipes remembering how we came about creating them as well as eating them! Some of these we need to make again!
Collection of our favorite summer time recipes that will cool you down!
*side note: we are slowly working on updating our recipe page making it easier to find certain recipes. Trying to make more categories for more specific ingredients, etc. Thanks as always for your patience as we continue to make it easier for you.

*side note – there will be no Purely Talk today. We are taking the day off. We will get back to our normal schedule next week. Thanks for understanding.
Twins Question: What is your favorite summer time treat to cool you down? Do you have a red, white and blue inspired recipe? Is there a recipe you would like us to create that is red, white and blue themed?
till next time,
xoxo

oh no, email us maybe we can help! xoxo
Everything looks. so. GOOD. over here in Canada it’s just barely starting to get warm so I havent been experimenting too much with cooling foods this year, but when the time comes homemade popsicles are going to be come out in full force! yummm
Happy 4th! All of these recipes look delish! My favorite summer treats are smoothies and green juices 😉 Ice cream is great but store bought brands are so fattening 🙁 I’m looking forward to my Mom’s blueberry pie today though.
I LOVE all the pics, everything looks so delicious!!
I love smoothies in summer – currentlythey are green, love that to get in additional veggies.
Happy July 4th!!
Hi girls
I really do enjoy your blog …but just want to suggest something (and do NOT take offense, simply just a …thought to consider, that’s all). Stress, overanalyzing, these things will create much more damage on body and mind than anything else. Do you think analyzing food and supplements are really healthy or “not ” stressful? People don’t normally do that, analyze everything. Some of the healthiest, long-lived in the world (including those in the Blue Zones or some 100 year old grandma who ate chocolate bars all her life) are happiest, stress less etc without care of food.
Some people have great balance (when you see blogs like “eat live run”, “kath eats” , “healthy tipping point”…they talk about literature, kids, love, volunteer work, mom meet-ups, the sun, faith, family, movies, etc…). Food yes, but LIFE.
I’m sure you may have complicated issues (I myself have critical health issues and nutrition plays one part of it…but only one part). At such a baby age as you both are, do you really think your hormones and bodies can be that “damaged”….just think about it..not criticizing, just suggesting you think.
Rather than shut down this comment or disregard it, simply KEEP AN OPEN MIND and read the book “Health Food Junkies” by Dr. Stephen Bratman….this is truly an insightful book for ALL healthy living and food bloggers…so just keep an open an mind, and read it cover to cover…and think…just….reflect.
That is all.
Have a lovely holiday with your family and sun.
Miranda thank you for your comment. We are very aware of this…and it we know it might seem like we are overanalyzing but really we ENJOY are life. We are happy. And we always will keep an open mind thank you 🙂
Awesome round-up!
