bust out + cleaning out the fridge

Happy Friday luvs!!

We all made it through another week!  And since we are heading out of town for Blend we did our best to clean out the fridge.  We also did our best to get work done yesterday but to be honest our minds were already in vacation mode. It was hard to concentrate as all we wanted to do was pack and get on a plane 😉  (currently on the plane – HI from the sky!)


We did get up early to get a good workout in.

We did a 5 minute plank as our warm-up to get the body (and upper body) ready for the arm bust out that was next.  Which did you see our newest video talking about our new series for our youtube channel?

loris juice

Using up the last bit of items in my fridge so the juice was a little small – made about 8oz.

Breakfast was green juice (carrots, romaine, kale, ginger) 2 whole eggs with banana and coconut oil.

Michelle’s breakfast was the same. Juice with eggs, banana and coconut oil.

Lunch was more items we are trying to eat up before heading out of town.

We each enjoyed the last bit of left over mahi mahi with yellow summer squash, half avocado, sauteed spinach, raw carrot with ACV, ghee and a little bit of plantains. This meal was excellent. We love the shredded carrot with ACV. Something about it is so sweet and yummy.

Afternoon snack was some goat milk kefir with chia seeds and a little coconut oil. Yesterday when we stopped by whole foods we got some goat milk kefir as for some reason we both were craving it.

Also grabbed some kombucha while at whole foods. We usually get GT’s kombucha as it is our favorite but this brand is another good one (plus it was on sale). Perfect.

We had one last plantain sitting in our house and a really ripe banana so we thought we should make our plantain cake using those ingredients. Basically we did a plantain blended in Vita-mix with 1 ripe banana, 1 tbsp ghee and 5 eggs. And we sprinkled in some cinnamon and cardamom for flavor. Baked in oven for about 30 minutes or so at 350 degrees. Going to be our breakfast as we travel tomorrow! Can’t wait to eat it!

Dinner was turnips, half avocado, one duck egg, little mache lettuce, coconut oil, salmon and black lava sea salt.  Superb! A great way to end our night.

We finally got around to packing last night for our trip. We actually did our best to plan out our outfits and bring just a few extra things. In the past we would just kinda of throw clothes in we liked with no real plan and always over packed. This time we tried to be a little more organized, we shall see how it goes.

Twins question: Do you clean out your fridge before heading out of town? How early do you start packing for a trip? Do you plan out your outfits or do you just wing it?

bon voyage! i had plans to head to blend but then a flurry of crazy happened with the house buying/job hunting/my mom being very sick. we’ll have to meet up sometime 🙂

Can I explain more about the plantains? I’ve never tired them before….

1 how many do u buy at a time?

2. Organic? Where do u get them… Wfm?

3. Do u buy them yellow or black? When do u eat them (yellow or black)?

4. How do u prep them?.

5. How much is a serving?

Thanks so much… Ur food looks so good! I wish u had a meal service company, (like Seattle Sutton or those other diet homemade meal companies)…. Id totally use ur service

I’m actually starting to plan and pack for my upcoming road trip (northern CA ->Utah ->southern CA ->no cal)! I’m so excited, despite the fact it’s going to be A LOT of time driving (but sure to be some gorgeous scenery in there). I’m hitting up two national parks (zion and bryce) and getting in loads of hiking with a girlfriend who lives in CO. So yeah, I’m starting to prepare now, eat up the perishable food stuffs and tackle my gigantic to do/to pack list. I’ll be making up some homemade nut butters, pre-steaming rice, chopping veggies (for camping meals) and making sure I pack plenty of coffee for the french press!

I always like to plan before hand. Im a Taurus like you Twins are, too. Sometimes I just wing it, though 😉
