We filmed two #purelyfitlife workouts.

One was not planned (as we realized one video we did a few days ago did not record so we had to re-do it. So good thing we took yesterday off and have the next 3 days planned as rest days!

We received some new workout clothes to try out! More on that soon…plus a giveaway 🙂



Started our day with a big green juice. The same juice as yesterday.

Later we enjoyed black coffee and hemp english muffin, which we topped with coconut oil. SOOO good!



After our workout we enjoyed a banana followed by eggs, arugula,turnips, and brussel sprouts. Hit the spot for us. Just what we both were craving.

As we mentioned yesterday, our parents are in town so we were busy in the kitchen making food for us to enjoy from cupcakes to raw pistachio cake to beef brisket.


And we had to sample along the way 🙂

We were a little disappointed in our cupcakes, we created the recipe on top of our heads hoping it would work. They taste great but a bit too dense for cake. We need to play around with the recipe more before we share.

We are still looking forward in enjoying these for dessert the next few days especially since they are topped with our favorite frosting.


Sampled our new twist on our raw pistachio cake.

You can probably guess what we did.


Later we enjoyed an avocado pudding with coconut oil and cacao nibs.

Then it was time to pick-up the parents and get dinner ready.


We cooked red cabbage in some of our bbq sauce that we cooked our brisket in.


Made Parsnip fries!!

A favorite for everyone.


We actually cooked the beef brisket in the crock pot over night and a bbq sauce we made.

This was our first time cooking beef brisket and it was a success!! We must admit we love this cut of meat compared to other cuts of meat.

For the bbq sauce we took a can of tomato sauce, 1 cup water, a little sea salt, 3 tbsp molasses, and some bbq spice that we got from Whole Foods. Simple and tasty.

We admit it was pretty good for our first time cooking beef brisket. Definitely will be made this again.


And ended our night with dessert by the fire!

Perfect way to end a rainy, dreary cold day.

I can’t figure out what magical thing is sitting proudly atop your pistachio cake…is that a marshmallow layer? Or just very light & foamy frosting?

I just made a brisket for Easter. I always cook mine in the crock pot – 2 day process (1st day is with seasonings and liquid smoke, refrigerate overnight, slice and cover in Bar-B-Que sauce on the 2nd day).
Glad your’s turned out – meat in the crock pot is my favorite!!

Hi L&M! I’d like to try your recipe. I made corned beef in the crock pot fairly often. Cabbage and parsnip fries…so delish! Those are great looking tanks!

You girls are looking so strong!
I’ve never even tried brisket before! Kind of intimidates me.
Parsnip fries are one of my favorite things ever!! So much better than potatoes, in my opinion.
It has actually been pretty decent where I live, shocked by that.
