Purely Fit workout 1: strong sexy arms

Hello friends.

We have our first Purely Fit Life workout video for you guys.  Many of you requested a workout for the arms. A workout to help with getting rid of that flabby underarm.

You have already seen our killer leg interval workout and some of you have tried and liked it!  So,  we think you will love this arm workout too.


It’s designed to help tone up your arms… well really your whole upper body.

We picked some of our favorite arm toning exercises to create this killer arm routine.

If you pair this workout with one of our #plankorkouts you have yourself one amazing ARM toning workout. You will feel the burn with these moves. Promise.


We hope you enjoy the workout as much as we did.

We also did a video of us doing the workout with you. It took us about 15 minutes to complete the 4 rounds of the exercises.

Depending on your fitness level you can do 1-4 rounds and change up the weight to fit your needs. Remember to push hard and make it count. If you do not have weights that is fine, you can do just bodyweight and still get a great burn in the arms!

We suggest if you are a beginner start with 1 to 2 rounds and work your way up to 4 rounds and use weights for more challenge.

  • A-fits (advanced peeps): use weights that challenge you and try to do 3-4 rounds 
  • B-fits (beginner peeps): use little or no weights and try to do 1-2 rounds, working your way up to 3-4 rounds. 

You can do this workout once or twice a week to get those strong, lean and sexy arms you want 🙂


Arms are one of the easy body parts for Lori to tone, as for Michelle it is one of the hardest to tone. Michelle is going to do this workout twice a week to get her arms looking the way she wants them– strong and toned.  Remember to work hard to get strong arms!  Each body is different, even we have different bodies as twins. We each have our body parts that we have to work a little bit harder to achieve our goals. Everything is possible…you just have to work harder 🙂

I am liking the new blog design and the fact you girls are incorporating some exercise demos — very fitting! It’s a beautiful thing that you gals have embraced your new nutrition and healing regimen with the balance of fitness. I have focused for so long on just my nutrition and have forgotten about fitness. I really enjoy reading your blog and feel as though its easy for me to connect to your blog postings. I love how genuine and sweet you ladies are 🙂 Perhaps your fitness entries will be the kick-in-the-butt I need to get me moving again. Just when you think you have almost figured it out, you realize that you are just beginning, when you do a 180 degree flip 😉
@Lori – I’m so grateful for how brave you are sharing your struggles with acne. I have felt alone and depressed for so long over mine, but am finding comfort in others sharing their story. Me again 😛 I also wanted to mention that you both look amazing and for regular bowel movements…
have you both ever tried slippery elm? (I may have mentioned it before)
I really like it in the am (1 tsp) in some warm water, followed by lots more H2O in the day. It’s very helpful with constipation and gut issues. Just my two-cents 😉

yay! i did this workout this morning along with your 5 minute plank workout! it was great 😉 i actually feel like the 5 minute one is more difficult than the 12 minute one. maybe because of transitioning into upper plank.

the arm workout was great! i felt like you were right there with me getting through it. i also learned two new arm exercises that i’ve never done before(the bomber and inverted plank pushup). you two are so cute. i love when you say “keep smiling” and “only 2 more!” it makes me smile. can’t wait for more videos!!!

Loved how you explained and showed the moves before the workout. Sometimes I do better when I see it in “action” than pictures. Loved the music, keeps my mind off the pain ;). Arms are sore! 🙂

WOW girls! This circuit looks so simple and unassuming, but I was surprised how challenging it was! Since I had my first baby 9 months ago, I’ve been on the lookout for workouts that Git Er Done in 30 minutes or less. This will definitely stay in my rotation!

I just finished this workout after completing the 12-minute full body plank workout. Phew! I wasn’t able to do all the reps, but I’m very proud of myself. Keep up the good work girls, I am definitely going to try your other workout videos. As a food blogger myself, and currently on a vegan challenge, I am very happy to have found your blog yesterday while looking for an amaranth pancake recipe. It just fits perfectly with my health and fitness goals at the moment. Thank you girls!
