together at disney princess half marathon weekend

by purelytwins

Yesterday we both took a day off from working out.  Since our next few days are going to be long and tiring, we knew it was good to give the body rest. Plus we are running this weekend.

Lori’s Day:

First up was my last juice before being out of town for a few days. I enjoyed a basic cucumber, beet, kale and carrot juice -just like the day before. So good, though after some talk with Michelle – we might think the beets are causing my acne to flare up again (still might be from other things like avocado or chocolate, or just a little detox and stress – so not saying beets are the main issue just a thought).

Next was just 2 eggs and some arugula. Topped with coconut oil.

Enjoyed some marshmallows.

I got packed up and dressed for my flight to Orlando, Florida to meet up with Michelle and the Raw Threads staff to get ready for the Disney Princess half marathon expo. Decided to be comfy for my travels. I wore my favorite black running tights from Raw Threads, Reebok shoes and Moving Comfort sweater. Plus left the hair naturally curly.

I quickly enjoyed lunch before heading into the airport. Leftover sauteed kale, steamed Brussels sprouts, half avocado, sardines and canned salmon.

Arrived in Orlando and took Disney magical express to the resort to help with set-up.

Found Michelle 🙂

Twins together again!

Enjoyed one glass of wine with dinner.

Dinner was grilled grouper and side of veggies. The grouper was grilled perfectly!!  Since I was traveling I did not take my pre-dinner pills. I knew my eats and pill taking would be a little off these next few days. I still really enjoyed my dinner.

Lori’s thoughts:

I had one small bowel movement in the morning. I did horrible on my water. Overall still felt fine all day long, not great but fine.  It is nice to be with Michelle again. And skin still doing ok, about the same. Pimples are getting smaller. No changes on the back, still the same – frustrating.

Michelle’s day:

My breakfast was greens, carrots, eggs and half avocado and coconut oil. First time having avocado in the morning. I wanted to try it out to see how I did. One being that I knew I was not really going to have a lunch so wanted to make my breakfast a little fattier to see if it kept me satisfied for a long time. And it did!!

Lunch was snacking on truffles. We were so busy getting the booth set-up that there was no time for lunch. So chocolate to the rescue. So good I did not mind.

michellesnackWhen Lori arrived she helped get more coffees for the staff and I of course grabbed some more truffles.

After a full days of work at the Disney expo our parents took us out to dinner. And I joined Lori in having a glass of wine.

Since I did not have a real lunch I was hungry by the time we ate dinner. I got myself a nice rib-eye. Oh my — it was sooo good. Maybe it was extra delicious because I was super hungry.

Michelle’s thoughts:

I had a pretty good day for having such unique eats and lack of water… and extra chocolate and coffee. It was that kind of day. Just like all my other days of working at expos I knew my eats would be different. .By now I am mentally prepared for it.  I did not really go to the bathroom much yesterday, so stomach did get a little bloated late afternoon.  Besides that I have no other issues.

We have been taking short little videos of our day that we are hoping to create a video highlight of our time. We hope you guys like the video, it probably won’t be ready until this weekend. This is our first time doing little videos like this of our day, so we shall see how it goes 😉  Always a wild unpredictable ride with us.

Anyone else doing a race this weekend? Has anyone run any Disney races? Do you like coming to Disney? What is your favorite Disney character?

We are running in the Princess half marathon on Sunday, and we have done quite a few Disney races as we love doing them. We grew up going to Disney so we love it here. And our favorite Disney character is a hard pick as we like so many — yes we are still kids at heart.

Love to see you girls together! I know how I would miss my sister if I didn’t get to see her at least weekly like I do now! And, remember, don’t stress about not being able to eat exactly the way you would like…less stress about it means less stress on your body! It seems you are already setting your mind right!

That looks like sooo much fun!! Wish I was somewhere warm right now! Just a question, what kinds/brands of alcohol/wine do you girls enjoy? I love wine so much and I love the organic wines like Pacific Rim Riesling and the Bonterra wines.

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:49 am

we love all types Michelle of wine, sometimes we get organic and sometimes we don’t 😉 for alcohol we like tequila and vodka, sometimes a good whiskey.

I, too, love all things Disney. Every character is unique, just like us. How can I possibly choose a favorite? They all converge to make up “Disney.” Just like we all converge to make up “humanity.”

Way to go for all of your hard work. I would LOVE to run in the Disney Princess Half Marathon some day…need to start training 🙂

How do you “accept” and not “obsess” over not taking pills or altering your eats?

Enjoy letting the kid in you flourish!

Chris we will have to do a post on that here soon 🙂

Have a wonderful time at disney and the expo!!! Glad you two are reunited at long last 🙂 haha…I know you both are going to have a blast running the half (I’ve heard amazing things about it – maybe one day for me?). xoxo

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:50 am

thanks Amanda xoxo
yes you should it is a lot of fun!

Lori I had exactly the same juice as you this morning! Love beets because if you just use a bit their flavour is easily masked and they make the juice just the most beautiful red colour!

Where is your sweater from, btw? I LOVE the cowl neck idea!

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:53 am

awesome Anna 🙂
the sweater is from the company Moving Comfort!

I have recently found that eggs aggravate my breakouts. Eggs are an excellent food but they don’t work with everyone’s body chemistry. They can reek havoc on someone’s inflammation. I have always enjoyed eggs but have recently tried to work in more protein into my diet after being a raw vegan and I have noticed BREAKOUTS!
I love your blog and maybe cutting back on eggs or just the yolks would work for you! Thanks for the awesome blog and yummlicious recipes!

Im always super interested in how you both review your foods and diet..makes me feel like im not alone 🙂 I too get confused about what foods cause problems for me. The one aspect of food intolerances are having cross reactions. When I used to eat avocados some days I would get extra itchy or my eczema would never go away. I figured that the avocados were cross reacting to latex! Most foods cross react with something-pollens, gluten, etc… so just incase you needed more information to ponder on ( hehe I know you both research alot already). If it makes you feel any better, you can eat more foods then me!

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:55 am

haha Caroline – very interesting we will have to take that into account.

Ellie@Fit for the Soul February 22, 2013 - 10:42 pm

I’ve been loving freshly squeezed juice–it’s so refreshing! And you look so good in your cute outfit, I love the chic but comfy looks of it 🙂

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:56 am

Thanks Ellie!!

I have been following your posts for awhile now (love them!!) & have been wondering about the coconut oil. I know that fats have been known to flare up acne, but I also know each person reacts differently to them. I found this article about acne & thought it might interest you.

Im happy for you both that you are together and you both are so pretty and I like your naturally curly hair Lori. have a great weekend.

purelytwins February 24, 2013 - 10:52 am
