day 24 carob waffle and family time

by purelytwins

Remember this our plan to heal our gut. Consult your doctor before beginning any program. Adjust to your own body and needs. We have done our own research and have come to these steps to help us in our journey to heal our stomach issues. Please do your own research before starting anything new. We are not really sure how long we plan to do this program. And over time we might be changing things depending on how our bodies are doing. We plan to share just about everything as we heal, so we apologize now if somet hings are TMI. We want to be honest as we are using our blog as our journal.

Hello luvs!

How was everyone’s weekend? We both enjoyed ourselves over the weekend filled with lots of  family time.

Michelle enjoyed a day playing with our niece. Lori enjoyed her day hanging with Jax and Gary.

Love our family Sundays.

lori-running

Lori: Went for a 15 minute interval run with Gary. I set my Gymboss Interval Timer for 8 rounds of 2 minute and 1 minute intervals. I jogged for 2 minutes and sprinted for 1 minute.

Michelle: Tried to go for a run but just ended up playing with Joy our niece.

Lori day 24 recap:

I took my morning probiotic,  1 tsp fish oil, l-glutamine and enjoyed marshmallows with gelatin .

egg-waffle-bacon

After sleeping in a little it was time for some breakfast. Craving waffles again so that is what I made. Though enjoyed a new waffle idea with having an egg on top as my ‘waffle topping’ served with 2 pieces of turkey bacon and black coffee. DELICIOUS!!!! The runny egg yolk was the perfect grain-free waffle topping. No syrup needed 😉

You could do all carob powder and no coconut flour. You could try using a flax-gel for the egg if you like.  We have not tried it so unsure of how it would come out (but always worth a shot).

bone-broth

My first batch of bone broth was done, I made more last night. Plan on enjoying some today for the first time. We kept our beef bone broth simple with just water, sea salt and apple cider vinegar; we added no veggies nor flavorings. Michelle and I are still trying to get the hang of making our own broths, definitely a learning process for us.

citrus-kombucha

Sipped on a kombucha on the way to the dog park again to let Jax play and run around.

vizsla-paws

Dog park was not as muddy as yesterday, but still enough to get his paws a little dirty.

vizsla-jax

How Jax rode for most of the car ride back home.  Too funny. Plus he tried so hard not to fall asleep.  Oh, love him.

We have another dog training appointment tonight. Gary and I have been working with Jax multiple times a day with our training. So far it is going really well!

shrimp-brussel-sprouts-spinach

Next I enjoyed about 4oz of shrimp with a cup brussel sprouts and a little bit of spinach topped with 1 tbsp coconut oil.

new-recipe

Worked on a new recipe. Hoping to have it up tomorrow!

raw-carrot

Snacked on a raw carrot. I felt like something crunchy and was not in the mood to juice. So carrot it was.

salmon-dinner

Dinner was sautéed salmon, about 5oz, with sautéed arugula and butter lettuce, with fennel and my new recipe (think broccoli).  All topped with a little black sea salt and olive oil. Perfection.

Also enjoyed a glass of white wine and some marshmallows.

Took probiotic before bed and did put magnesium oil on body.

Lori: Day 24 recap –

Bathroom: very little

Energy: great

Gas:  none, no bloating either, no stomach complaints

Skin: still dealing with a few pimples that seem to have gotten larger, so treating them.  Besides that nothing new.

Water intake –about 8 cups

Day 24 was another great day for me, even though I really did not go poo I still felt great all day long. No complaints besides the few pimples on face that I am treating. Like I said earlier, I am excited to start having some bone broth a few times a day to see how that helps heal my gut even more.

Michelle day 24 recap:

I took my morning probiotic,  1/2 tsp fermented cod liver oil/butter blend, l-glutamine and enjoyed 2 marshmallows with gelatin .

day 24 eats

Actually my day was filled with lots of marshmallow eating! Even mom and the sisters enjoyed them 🙂

Breakfast – Carob waffle egg sandwich with 1 tbsp coconut oil. I followed Lori’s recipe above just did 2 tbsp carob no coconut flour. And cooked up one egg to enjoy in between the waffle.

Lunch –  Leftover grilled cod and salmon with leftover grilled veggies topped with 1 tbsp coconut oil.  I love parsnip fries!

Snack- one marshmallow

Dinner – Dad grilled again, he just loves it! Plus we all enjoy eating what he grills. I enjoyed grilled haddock, 1 sardine and cooked red cabbage with mixed greens all topped with 1 tbsp coconut oil. I enjoyed two glasses of red wine.

Dessert – the older sis and I enjoyed the last bit of mint marshmallows. Soooo good.

I did take my pre-dinner pills and took a probiotic before bed.

kombucha

In the middle of playing with my niece I enjoyed a kombucha and made some more bone broth.

bone broth makingI re-used the bones and added in more ACV and sea salt to the mix. Excited to enjoy some bone broth this week!!

joy wearing reebok shoes

I had a wonderful day being care free running around with my niece, something about playing with kids that just makes everything seem okay in the world!

Joy was rocking my reebok shoes…love her.

Michelle: Day 24 recap –

Bathroom: from the moment I was up I was go go go, so never had bathroom time, so very little success.

Energy: good

Gas:  despite not going poo, I did not have gas or bloating. Inhad a big appetite, which I found weird. But I just went with it and enjoyed it.

Skin: doing good

Water intake –about 8 cups (includes kombucha)

progress

I am enjoying every little progress I make. I am not making any judgements. I am not stressing. Just enjoying the journey, wherever it takes me. Taking one day at a time.

Remember change takes time. Embrace the small things. Continue to be happy!

Hi Twins! Love your blog, you are my inspiration.
A thing I want to share: my naturopath recommended “Seed cycling”. You take organic ground seeds once a day to regulate your menstruation. Google it. It’s very simple and harmless. I’m on my 10th day so it’s too early to tell whether is working… Nevertheless, worth to try.
Thanks again for your interesting posts!

Can you please share the marshmallow recipe?

Also, can if you do not have a waffle maker, can you cook the waffle mix as pancakes?

Thanks, girls!!!
