Lori: I woke up Saturday morning craving to do some yoga! I did the same Tara Stiles yoga routine that I did a few days ago. I just love it and determined to do some of the poses.
I am not very good at yoga, but I know that is not the point. Yoga is about re-connecting with your mind and breathe. ย My yoga practice continues…
Michelle: it was her day off, since it was a really long day at the Disney Tinker Bell half marathon expo.
Michelleโs day 16 of healing recap:
After my plank I took my morning probiotic, fish oil pill, and l-glutamine and gelatin with coconut oil.
The downstairs restaurant in the hotel was not open yet so I decided to snack on a banana with some coffee as I got ready for the day.
Once the restaurant was open the group headed downstairs. My Disney breakfast was very similar to yesterday but just with more bacon.
Here I am with my older sister, Jen, wearing our raw threads Tinker Bell Fly shirts. All ready for the last day of the expo.
It was a VERY long day yesterday.
I did snack on two bananas at the booth and did not eat dinner until about 11:30pm at night. That is when we were done packing up the booth. So I did not take my pills as by that time all I wanted was food. My dinner was the same thing from yesterday. ย A very weird day of eats and looking forward to getting back on a normal routine here soon!
Michelle ย Day 16 recap –
Bathroom: yes, stool about 3 to 4
Energy: good
Gas: ย no
Skin: no complaints
Water intakeย โ 6-7 cups (lost count of how much)
I am sooooo looking forward to getting home so I can start making some yummy eats like Lori! ย Just a few days left of travel for me ๐
Sorry for the lack of pictures. ย Like I said it was a VERY BUSY day.
Loriโs day 16 of healing recap:
I took my morning probiotic,ย 1/2 tsp cod liver oil/butter blend, and l-glutamine and gelatin.
After my yoga session I felt like doing something a little different with my first meal of the day. I was making waffles for Gary and decided I wanted a waffle too.
I basically just blended my 2 handfuls of chopped kale, 3 1/2oz sweet potato, and 2 eggs in my Vita-mix. Poured batter into waffle maker and ta-da green waffles.
A very green waffle! The waffle experiment worked out! I topped my green waffle with with 1 tbsp coconut oil and gobbled it right up. Enjoyed some black coffee too.
I must say it was fun to create the same typical first meal for me and enjoy it in a different way.
Later in the day it was time to juice.
Juice made about 16oz; 1 beet, fresh ginger, freshย parsley, 5 stalks of kale, ย 5 carrots, 4 stalks of romaine, 4 radishes and half cucumber.
I enjoyed my favorite kind of juice – beet juice. I love any juices with beets in it. ย Bonus it gives you vampire lips and teeth ๐
Jax wanted some juice, haha
Snacks for the day was a banana and couple handfuls of veggie chia seed pulp crackers.
I took my pre-dinner pills: 1/2 tsp cod liver oil,ย l-glutamine, ย quercetin, licorice, digestive enzyme and more gelatin.
Dinner was another new recipe experiment. Lamb veggie pulp mustard meatloaf. ย I had about 4 oz of the lamb meatloaf with spinach and about a cup of broccoli and half avocado. Topped with black lava sea salt, sauerkraut and 1 tbsp coconut oil.
I fell in love with lamb meatloaf the first time Michelle and I ate lamb based meatloaf, andย I knew I had to make it again. This time around I added in some leftover juice pulp and mustard instead of the typical tomato paste that goes in meatloaf since I am trying to avoid nightshades. This new lamb meatloaf (I get my grass-fed lamb meat from US Wellness meats) experiment was delicious! ย It was different but I loved the flavors and texture.
I am sure if you wanted to try using leftover juice pulp in a vegan nut or lentil based meatloaf to keep it vegan it would work. I think it would be a great addition.
Gary and I enjoyed our dinner outside by the fire.
Also enjoyed some white wine with kombucha and two coconut flour based thin mints (recipe in our cookbook).
A perfect Saturday for me.
I love trying new recipes and being successful.
Loriโs Day 16 recap:
Bathroom: bowel movement in the morning,ย stool was like a 2-3
Energy: great
Gas: no, no bloating either
Skin: still dealing with the few pimples on chin, forehead, and next to nose
Water intakeย – 9 cups water (does not include juice)
Yesterday was overall a great day for me. I really enjoyed all my eats and had a wonderful leisure Saturday with Gary and Jax.
Love seeing these photos from you guys! Christieros – so happy you enjoyed our coconut flour chocolate chip cookies! And Brookeeking – so glad we can inspire you with delicious meals!
And Nicole thank you for your sweet words and purchase of our cookbook! xoxo
Twins Question: Anyone else try lamb meatloaf before? ย What kitchen experiment or new recipe of you tried and liked? ย Anyone run in any races this weekend? Anyone else enjoying some fires on these cold nights?
til next time,
xoxo

Good Morning!! I wish we could sit outside by the fire here!! Miss that so much but it is -18 celcius and snowing like crazy!! haha Those Raw Threads shirts are soo awesome that Michelle and Jen are wearing! I made the veggie pulp crackers the other day and loved them! Making more today because I am loving my juice daily! I was just wondering about your skin care rountine for your face, I know you do the oil pulling but do you exfoliate ever or only oil pulling? Also I would love to see a post about your make up that you use as well. I am always very curious what other people use and how it works for them as far as coverage. I am looking for a foundation and powder and slowly changing my life over to organic and natural! You both are gorgeous, so inspiring and strong!
yes Michelle I can do a video about makeup here soon. And yes I do exfoliate my skin ever other night, I forgot to mention that. I might have said that in other acne videos of mine but forgot to say it again with my most recent one. I use pretty much baking soda to exfoliate, I put my eminence face cleanser in my hands put some baking soda in and mix it together than rub on my face. I do this before I do the oil pulling. After I do this exfoliate mix I rinse with warm water and pat dry, than I do the oil pulling. I try to do this every other night, but sometimes I forget, so at at least 2-3 times a week I aim to do it. Hope this helps.
Hi purely twins! Can you explain to me the process of oil pulling? I’m always looking for different ways to naturally keep my skin clear and have never heard of this before.
Thanks ๐
Nat here is a good article about oil pulling http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/
Yum, fresh juice <3 I have my second glass of today right now, and its so delicious. Beets makes them soo good!
And I did my first Tara Stiles yoga practice this morning, inspired by you guys ๐ I LOVED it! My new favorit for those days I cant make it to a class.
awesome! So glad that you enjoyed to yoga!!!
Looks like the gut healing is still going smoothly! I feel like I need to experiment again a little bit, although I do feel a ton better without eggs and dairy, there is something still off with my digestion. I wish there was a simple answer to heal everything! I’m glad the meatloaf was a success! I do love meatloaf, but can’t have mustard since I have an allergy to it. Random. I found that avoiding nightshades helped my skin SO much. It’s weird but glad I figured that out, although I do something eat tomatoes still. Moderation, I guess. I love the green waffles:)
I wish it was easy too Lisa. HUGS
I love the idea of including the juice pulp in a lentil loaf! I would never have thought of that but it’s genius! I’m always looking for new ways to use it up. ๐
I was so inspired by all of your crackers this week Lori that I just ordered my very own (and first) dehydrator. I can’t wait for it to arrive!
wahoo!! you will love it! ๐
My favorites from this post: the Tink shirts and the green waffles! I always look forward to reading your posts ๐
thanks Lindsay xoxo

Michelle, i feel ya. safe travels and here’s to coming home to normal eats.
hugs
thanks girl I am so excited to be home here soon! xoxo
I’m glad to hear that the two of you are making such great progress with your goals! And great work Michelle for keeping it up while traveling– It must be tough stuff!
Quick Q: Is that the LA Skyline session by Tara? I would love to know which of the four dvds that one is on (In the UK they’re selling the dvds separately, and I can’t fathom which work out is on which one!).
That yoga session is called the Energy Flow on her This Is Yoga dvd – AM/PM Yoga for Everyone. It has 4 routines on it: AM flow, PM flow, Daily Basic flow, and the Energy Flow. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much!
Girls! You’re killing it! How do you come up with some of these wild ideas! I.e. green yam waffles! Amazing!
haha thanks Paula
