Remember this our plan to heal our gut. Consult your doctor before beginning any program. Adjust to your own body and needs. We have done our own research and have come to these steps to help us in our journey to heal our stomach issues. Please do your own research before starting anything new. We are not really sure how long we plan to do this program. And over time we might be changing things depending on how our bodies are doing. We plan to share just about everything as we heal, so we apologize now if some things are TMI. We want to be honest as we are using our blog as our journal.
We would like to mention again that we are using our blog as a journal so we can look back at it and see what we said. So when we give a summary at the end it does not mean we are giving up when we see no improvement. We are just documenting what is going on as accurately as possible 😉
Monday morning we did the Tone it Up – Crush Cardio.
It was made up of a few different intervals for running or whatever form of cardio you like. We felt like jump roping instead of going for a run. We took their idea of intervals and tweaked them to fit our current workout needs. We also did our 8 minute #plankworkout as our warm-up. Then did the crush cardio interval circuit.
First we used our Gymboss Interval Timer to set 2 rounds of 40 second easy jumping with 20 seconds faster jumping.
Next intervals we did as 5 rounds of 30 second easy jumping with 30 seconds fast jumping and ended with 5 rounds of 1 minute slow jumping with 1 minute fast jumping. Also, we felt like burning our legs a little bit more so we did 5 sets of 5 reps on each leg of single leg squats. Legs are one body part we like to workout but for some reason we seem to neglect them. We are going to try to do these single leg squats a few times a week.
Both of us are still feeling strong with our workouts.
Recap of what we ate Monday:
supplements – probiotic and 1/2 tsp fermented cod liver oil/butter blend
Enjoyed black coffee with 1 cup frozen raspberries that I defrosted and dusted with cinnamon.
(then worked out about an hour later)
About 30 minutes after working out I took l-glutamine and made myself 5 oz sweet potato mashed up with the last bit of leftover grilled veggies, 2 eggs (with one raw egg yolk), 1 cup chopped kale cooked together in a skillet with cinnamon, coriander, turmeric and cardamom. Then poured 1 heaping tbsp of coconut oil on top. Lori and I just love meals like this, just warms the whole body 😉
After running around like a mad woman (I am leaving for out of town for 2 weeks for work) I looked forward to a big glass of juice!
One cup for mom and one cup for me!! I felt amazing after drinking this. Helped me stay focused to get my work done.
My evening was not as happy as we have not talked about it yet, but our grandmother has been in the hospital. I briefly mentioned something yesterday…Lori and I both appreciate your prayers!!!
I did not feel like cooking last night. Mom and dad did not feel like cooking either. So we stopped by Carrabas on the way home for dinner.
I remembered to take my supplements before dinner – digestive enzyme, l-glutamine, quercetin, and I finally got my licorice in! For more about the supplements please check out this post.
I ordered the grilled salmon plain with no sauce, steamed spinach and side salad that I topped with my 1/2 avocado and 1 sardine sauerkraut mash. I topped my salad off with 1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil.
Before bed I did rub magnesium oil on legs.
Michelle: Day four recap –
Bathroom: did go to the bathroom a little in the morning
Gas: none (did start my morning with some bloating but went away as the morning went on)
Skin: skin pretty much the same
Water intake – 9 cups (does not include juice)
I am currently traveling to Orlando and will be there all week. Lucky for me I will be staying with my older sis, so plan to keep up with my eats as best as I can.
Morning- probiotic and 1/2 tsp fermented cod liver oil/butter blend and l-glutamine
Snacked on some fresh blueberries about 3oz I believe as I made my egg sweet potato meal. I got my coffee ready for me to do work. I got one rather large pimple on my side chin (can kinda see it in picture), but besides that no major complaints about face.
Yes this meal is becoming pretty standard for my first meal of the day. What can I say I just love it. This meal was 2 whole eggs (with one raw egg yolk), a good 2 cups worth of shredded kale, 1 tbsp coconut oil, cinnamon, turmeric and about 4oz sweet potato.
Around mid-day I made myself a 16oz fresh veggie juice.
Took Jax on his afternoon walk. Missing the warm sunny Florida weather.
Came back from walk and enjoyed a heaping cup of sliced roasted brussel sprouts topped with cinnamon, cardamom and 1 tbsp coconut oil.
Later enjoyed a banana and 2 cups of peppermint tea with stevia. Right now keeping my mid-day meals simple and small. Not sure why, just what I am feeling like at the moment.
Before dinner took – digestive enzyme, l-glutamine, quercetin, licorice and 1/2 tsp cod liver oil
Dinner was leftover artichoke/zucchini/red onion mix (about a good 2 cups or so), with some sautéed spinach, about 3oz baby shrimp, sauerkraut, half avocado, dulse flakes, cumin, 1 tbsp coconut oil.
Dessert was a coconut flour mesquite chia pudding. What I did was first make up a mini chia pudding (1 tbsp whole chia seeds with 3 tbsp water, let sit 10 minutes). Next I added in 1 tbsp coconut flour, 1 tsp mequite flour, and 1 tbsp coconut oil. Mix all together and enjoy.
Last night with my left over juice pulp from the past two days of juicing I made Michelle’s and my veggie pulp crackers. I ended doing about 4 cups of pulp to I think 2 cups of water, with 1/2 cup chia seeds. I threw in some spices like cumin, parsley and oregano. Dehydrated it overnight at about 100 degrees in my dehydrator.
Before going to bed – I cleaned my back and put coconut oil on it. Also, did put magnesium oil on body.
Lori: Day four recap –
Bathroom: yes, two small bowel movements in the morning
Energy: steady throughout the day, actually had good energy level all the way up until going to bed.
Gas: a little but nothing too bad
Skin: steal dealing with one large pimple on chin, and a few very small blemishes, and my back still the same. I did not itch my skin that much yesterday.
Water intake – 10 cups water (does not include juice)
After completing day 4 of healing our gut and skin issues we are both feeling good. We know we have a long way to go. We are excited to see how our bodies change over these next few days and weeks. Thanks for everyone’s continued support and tips! We love you all!
I (Lori) am working on a FAQ video about this health journey, I hope to have it ready by Thursday. So happy to see everyone liking our new plank cardio workout! 🙂
Until next time,
PS: Please put our grandmother in your prayers. She is not doing very well. We know during difficult times you have to just have faith! And that is what we are doing.
Thanks – HUGS
