Happy Saturday friends!

One great thing about working out at home is that you don’t have to go outside in the cold weather (or rainy weather). Really no excuse for us not to workout. Gary was out of town all week, but I still managed to get up early to get my workouts in! Along with keeping up with Michelle and I’s planking. Michelle was able to do some workouts this week as well through all her traveling.  Continuing our weekly fitness updates, here is what we did.

We are participating in the Tone It Up girls #holidayhottie plan. You can read more about the program here. We are excited to continue to workout hard, eat a balanced diet, and have some time for ourselves in preparation for the holidays coming up. We love the tone it up girls for always inspiring us to be our best and always so encouraging!

Getting back into holding our bridge again after our #plankworkout.

My abs do not always show or look the best, but the other day they looked good, so I captured my abs for progress pictures. They are hard to keep looking good every day. Anyone else notice that some days your abs look better than others? I know diet has a lot to do with abs. As I am learning more about the body and fitness through my NASM personal training studying, the body and muscles are becoming even more interesting to me.

I am excited to start doing some of the recommended techniques to see if I notice any more results.

Michelle’s stomach was giving her issues this whole week, mainly from traveling. But she managed to keep up with her planks and workouts, plus her abs are still growing, great job sis.

Got Tara Stiles DVDS in the mail this week to do and give a review on!

I tried one yoga flow on Friday and loved it! Michelle and I will do a formal review here soon once we try out all the dvds and flows! Super excited though, as we love Tara’s youtube videos!

One thing that Michelle and I try to show here on the blog with our workouts is that you can still get in great shape while working out at home. We have nothing against gyms, but for those that workout at home – you can look just as good as people who workout at the gym. Whatever your fitness goal is you can reach it, just never give up. Stay focus and work hard each day!

Monday: warm up: 8 minute #plankworkout plus did zuzana light zwow #31 (love this one)

Tuesday: morning we did our 5 minute plankworkout . Later that morning came back to do the Tone it up Holiday Hottie cardio workout

Wednesday: Jenn Fit Lean Body Circuit 

Thursday: just did 8 minute plankworkout

Friday: Tara Stiles yoga for me, and push-ups for Michelle as she is working at the Wine and Dine expo.

Saturday: rest day for both

Sunday: Tone it Up Sandcastle workout

One thing about us sharing our weekly workouts is that we like to share and show that you can maintain a fit and healthy body. Again we all have our own fitness goals, but we like to share our results and progress for our own knowledge of what worked and what has not, so we can help someone else. That is one reason why I am getting into personal training. To show people that if you treat your body with love and find a good balance you can achieve your goals!

Remember every body is different, so learn and get inspired from others, but always be true to yourself! So we will continue to document and share pictures of our fitness progress to help keep us on track, sorry for those that do not like seeing things like this. But to us having a healthy fit body is important to us.

Some snacks I been enjoying. I made myself some more pumpkin pie fudge,  enjoying an apple and banana each morning,  a raw carrot with coconut oil (and Jax looking at me saying he wants the carrot, he loves carrots), and few days this week I enjoyed some goat yogurt with coconut oil and cardamom (sometimes added in chia seeds).

My first real meal of the day has been 2 whole eggs (usually one raw egg yolk), along with some saute green sometimes with a veggie like broccoli or brussels sprouts, and kabocha squash, all topped with coconut oil.  A few weeks ago Michelle and I were eating our eggs separately from our carb, here squash, but this week we ate them together. We noticed our stomachs do much better when they are eaten separately, so probably going back to that.

I always tend to leave my kabocha squash till the end, to enjoy last. So good I savory each bite!

Michelle has been enjoying yummy runny egg yolks warm salads with butternut squash.

Along with her favorite meal lately – tahini, sauerkraut and squash all mixed together.  Similar to her other favorite mix of kraut and avocado.

Michelle’s tummy like I mentioned previously has been acting up again from all her traveling and stress on her body. She is starting to get back into drinking warm lemon water in the morning to help. She is also trying to keep her meals simple lately and drinking lots of water!  Hope your tummy feels better soon sis.

Her desserts have been chocolate! Can’t go wrong with dark chocolate. We adore our rich dark chocolate that we created a pinterest board to it.

Well that has just been a high level highlight of a few eats of ours. We will get back into doing a better job of it this coming week 🙂

Now onto some Jax highlights!

Which our training at home is going well, we still have our ups and down moments with him. Now we are going through the stage where he is trying to be the alpha leader and not listening to us. We signed up for some PetSmart dog training and we have our first class today! I am a little nervous but have heard great things about the training! So thinking it will really help!

As I was taking pictures, I noticed that my Kswiss blue shoes matched Jax’s blue collar. No I did not plan that, just happened to notice 🙂

Carrie and Heather made our squash chia protein cookies! YAY!! We can’t wait to make these again too!

Love the idea of carrot and coconut oil- crazy combo but tempting to try! All both of your workout photos are so motivating, I can’t wait till my body is ready for intense exercise again, I’m so looking forward to it!

Have people said they don’t like you guys sharing your workouts & fitness progress?! Weird. I love it! I get ton of ideas from you, and you seem to have a balanced, healthy approach to exercise. Anyways, it is YOUR blog & you can write what you want to. Anyone that has been negative to you is clearly jealous of your abs:).

Mmm, all your eats look amazing as usual, I swear we have the same taste buds. Kabocha and super dark chocolate. It doesn’t get better than that IMHO.

i worked my butt off last week in the lab and at home. i managed to workout 4x this week already instead of my usual 2 by the weekend! i have been going back to smoothies even though it’s cold lol, it’s just an easy way to get my greens in!

Sara we do poaching or sunny side up, we not are the best it either way as sometimes we over cook it too, hoping with more practice we will get better

Great post! I am striving for your abs…I think I eat the right things but too much :). I am up to 7:30 on my daily plank in addition to bridge, bodyrock workouts and weights. I started back juicing this week, but I won’t have a juicer after this week as I head back to the Caribbean. What is your favorite green smoothie recipe? I will have access to a good blender. Thanks for sharing! These are my fav to read. I love your ideas and am inspired by your strong physiques! Keep it up!

aw thanks Candice, you will get your abs!! sounds like you are doing great! favorite green smoothie is handfuls of any green, some lemon juice and fresh ginger, about 1 cup water with some fruit, usually a banana and sometimes other fruit and protein powder.

The yoga dvds look good. I’ve often been disappointed with yoga videos. Can’t wait for your review! I like a vigorous flow most of the time.
I too eat my eggs with veggies because I digest them so much better that way.

Ground chia seeds is just whole chia seeds ground into flour. it is the same thing just in powdered form not whole seeds form

Both of you have amazing abs

To answer your questions I took Dobby (a standard poodle) through all of petco’s classes) then I had him cgc certified (another class) and then he went to therapy dog training and now (he’s 3) I’m signing him up for scent training – poodles are freakishly smart and he loves to learn and when he’s in school he is just SO happy!
And for my favorite workout this week my husband and I competed in a rebel race yesterday it was his first race and he was great and it was SO fun to share it with him and plus it was great to see what my new gym is doing for me (its all classes with some of the most positive and fun instructors I’ve ever met) I had no problem with any of the obstacles and before there were at least half I couldn’t have done!

Great workouts! Keep it going girls! You are inspirational.

Can you share how you warm salads? I have actually been warming my protein smoothies in the dehydrator in the morning because I feel that my tummy likes it better than a shot of cold liquid. The warm salads will probably also be better for my stomach than cold, now that the chillier weather is here. Thanks!

Chris basically for our warm salads is that we just saute the greens on a skillet making them warm and wilted instead of raw, and we toss in what ever veggies we have on hand into the skillet to warm up as well.

Preet they explain it on their site, but it is an ab exercise where you lower you legs while going in a circular motion
