ZWOW mommy

by purelytwins

Hey luvs,

We did want to mention that we are thinking and praying for everyone affected by the shooting in Colorado. So sad.

Lori and I both have been getting our workouts in!

And Mom is still working out with me. We have missed just two days this week walking outside due to rain and doctor appointments.  But the other days we have been getting a 30 minute walk in. Our booty call as the TIU girls call it!

After our walk we do our plank-bridge combo, although changed up the interval a little as mom said she needs more time to get into the next move. So now I set my Gymboss Interval Timer to 8 intervals of 10/30 seconds. 10 seconds is just enough time to go in between moves. Mom said she has been feeling her core! YES!!!

I know Lori has been keeping up with her plank workout and bridge.  And both of us pushing each other to our pullups on our equalizer!

Yesterday we decided to do a ZWOW!! It has been weeks since we have done one and felt #26 looked like a great one to do.

AND I GOT MOM TO DO ONE ROUND WITH ME!! I modified the moves for her, but she did it! At her own pace. I was so proud!! One day at a time and I will get my mom to love working out.

Does your mom or dad workout?  What is your #proof?

How awesome that you’re helping your mom to workout more. I wish I could do that with my mom–but we don’t live close enough to make that realistic (1 hour away). However, I have tried gently talking to her about staying active and at least going for walks. She just retired a few weeks ago, so I’m hoping with the extra time she now has, working out will become more of a priority and something she enjoys.

Michelle, this is only for short time I will be able to help her out. Hoping it sticks!

That’s so great! I too wish I lived near my mom to try to get her to join me, but when she visits, I sometimes get her to come to the gym and walk around the track!

My mom (and dad occasionally) started coming with me to the lake that I run around, and she even started running in brief intervals with me! It makes me so proud and happy 🙂

I got my mom doing my boot camp for a few months but both her and my dad like to make excuses to avoid the whole exercise world (even with a daughter that is a fitness freak).

I wish they would move more. They’re in good health now but I worry it’s going to catch up with them one day.

Great job on getting those workouts in! I actually work out with my mom or dad occasionally is I want to spend some time with them.
We are a household that loves to workout, my parents actually met at the gym.
My dad workouts everyday and my mom does just about the same, so they’ve definitely shaped my love for fitness!
I’m glad your mom is getting into fitness more, I bet she’ll love it soon enough:)

My mom goes to aerobics classes 3 times a week, and on weekends we hike or walk by the river together (we walked 22km! Twice!) My grandma goes to a corrective gymnastics class and bought herself a set of weights so she can strength train while at the beach house where she also swims 45 min a day–she is 79!
