baby-laughing

Took some 5 month selfies with Lyla.  Auntie helped out with getting her to smile.

A million pictures later we did get one!

5 month old selfie with mom

First mom and daughter bathroom selfie at 5 months. Lyla was unsure of this whole process, she is definitely more shy and quiet compared to her older sister. I used to take selfies with Madison #selfiewithmadison and now trying to continue that little tradition with her sister. I still can’t believe Lyla is 5 months old?! Life with 2 kids definitely goes by so quickly. These past few days it was a rough with the kiddos. 😕 I felt like I failed at parenting. From Madison going backwards with potty training with having more accidents and all she wants to eat is grapes and cereal, and Lyla not napping well causing a fussy and crying baby then rejecting the boob.

I caught myself googling why isn’t my baby sleeping, then I tell myself to stop. Stop over analyzing everything. To stop worrying. And realize that my kids know what they need. And I as their mom am enough. I do enough. 😀 Then Michelle looked at me and said you can’t fail at parenting. That I am doing my best and like with everything else in life there is no perfect parent so I need to take my own advice. I am letting it all go. I am not worrying about what tomorrow (or this evening) will bring to me. I am surrendering, praying and I trust everything will be okay. 🙏Despite all the mental exhaustion I am so beyond grateful for my two healthy kids. I am grateful that I have a job that allows me to spend every day with them. I am grateful to have amazing help and support. I am grateful sun and playtime at the beach. I am grateful for coffee and chocolate. Life can get crazy but it doesn’t have to be complicated. ❤❤Take time to slow down and show gratitude for everything in your life right now, and watch amazing things start happening in your life in a positive way.

High fat protein mush purelytwins

Been switching up our order of meals lately as we are trying to get back into working out in the morning and not at night. Mainly because that puts us further back from starting our projects, and we love making our mush as dessert like!

Auntie and neices

Play time with auntie.

Toddler painting outside

Madison doing what she loves to do the best – paint with her chalk.

Mom working out as her daughter joins her

Madison wanted to exercise with her mom. She had Michelle put the resistance band around her feet and tried to do what I was doing. It was hilarious! We got some on IG stories.

  1. Hey Lori I am right there with you. My little guy is 5 months old too and I have had those feelings that I am failing as a mom. He has never been a great sleeper but is a great eater, and I have now stopped googling how to get my baby to sleep cause I have tried it all. Someone told me that babies come into this world with their own personalities and I think that is so true. Hang in there Mama you are doing a wonderful job. Your girls are so lucky to have you just like you are lucky to have them.
