Less than 8 weeks to go! Will baby #2 be early? Only time will tell.

32 weeks pregnant with baby #2. Sharing my journey and how I am feeling, what I am doing to help prevent getting diastasis again or at least not as severe as after my first pregnancy.
I’ve been slowly getting baby #2’s nursery all set up. Since I am having another girl I am reusing a lot of Madison’s things which makes it easier on me. I have been organizing all the cloth diapers, baby clothes and baby toys.

Right now one of Madison’s favorite words is “baby”. Although she still doesn’t get why my belly is getting bigger and it’s harder for her sit on my lap.  With me getting out all the baby safe toys that she once played with she is all about them again. Hopefully she will let her little sister play with them.

Whenever Madison is near me her little sister just kicks away. This always brings a huge smile to my face. I seriously can’t wait for them to play together. I know I am a little bias in saying this but I think sisters are the best.

32 weeks pregnant with second child

Food cravings?

Peanut butter. Chocolate. Plantains. Okay the norms around here and really all food sounds pretty good to me.

Any symptoms?

Wedding ring is still on. No extra bloating or swelling.

Sleeping is alright. I am starting to get leg cramps at night. Not fun.

Being pregnant with Madison I never used any extra pillows to help with sleeping and the same so far with this pregnancy. I did try to put a pillow between my legs one night but I couldn’t sleep. I tossed and turned for a few hours then  I eventually removed the pillow and slept much better. So for some reason my body doesn’t like any extra pillows. I can’t sleep with them.

Life being pregnant with baby #2 and dealing with preventing diastasis again postpartum. What life is like being pregnant at 32 weeks with a baby girl.

Stretch marks?

I just have the few stretch marks around belly button and left side of belly that I got from my first pregnancy.

Miss anything?

Same as last update at 27 weeks pregnant.

How is my skin?

Great! So happy with how my skin is handling being pregnant again.

How is digestion?

Normal bowel movements and not much excess gas. No major issues with constipation thanks to my magnesium, healthy fats and squatty potty. This also helps with taking off extra internal pressure which helps with reducing diastasis.

Total weight gain?

No idea until I go to my next appointment this Thursday but last time it was about 10 pounds.

How’s the baby girl?

She is a mover. I feel she is moving a lot more than Madison did. I felt her hiccup for the first time a few days ago.

Pregnancy workout. Mom staying strong during second pregnancy.

How are my pregnancy workouts going?

I am loving my workouts. My body still feels good doing them.

I tend to work out about 5 days a week with 2 active rest days where I just walk and do at least one round of core work (here are a few exercises that I do) and belly breathing.

I try to film about one (sometimes 2) new pregnancy workouts for my new pregnancy program I am working on.  I walk at least 20 minutes every day.

You can read more how I am doing my workouts differently with this pregnancy here.

Now I wanted to give a quick update on how little miss Madison is doing at 21 weeks.

I still can’t believe she will be 2 years old here soon. Crazy.

She is one little cutie if I say so myself. #proudmom

She is a handful at times though.

Now she is getting to the stage where she knows what I don’t like her doing but does it anyways. Definitely pushing mom’s limits.  She looks at me with this little smile/grin and says “bye” with a wave and runs off to go do something she shouldn’t be. It’s hilarious.

She loves going to the beach and running around in the shallow part of the water (as you’ve seen in vlogs and on snapchat), she loves eating lemons (yes strange but she does), she really likes her homemade popsicles and Jax is definitely her favorite person.

She is learning more and more words each day. We also have been re-arranging her room.

We are getting close to starting the toddler bed transition.  We have a few things still to do to get her room prepped. I am excited about this as I think she is going to really love her new bed (half her bed is usually stuffed animals).

And this past week I tried to start potty training as Madison was showing signs of interest but as soon as I sat her down on her little potty she immediately wants up and runs away.  I don’t plan on pushing her. I plan to just keep mentioning it from time to time and be aware of her showing interest again to try again.

xoxo

  1. Is Madison still wearing cloth diapers?

    1. Lately she hasn’t been. When we moved I had to pack all the cloth diapers up and just now got them all back out. But now I am getting into potty training so not sure if I will use them on her again and just save them for her sister.

  2. So glad to hear that your pregnancy is going well and it’s so fun to hear about Madison. It is hard to believe that she is almost 2 years old! My daughter, who is 3, likes lemons too. Funny girls. Yes, I agree with going slow on potty training. I tried to push my oldest and it took a lot longer to potty train. Wishing you all the best, Lori.
