Today is a big topic. But before we dive into it today is our birthday!! 🙂 We are celebrating being another year older and we are super excited to share about something very special to us which you’ll see more details at the end of the post!
Binge eating is a topic that we’ve mentioned in other videos and blog posts but we wanted to dive deep into it again. Why? Because we feel sharing our story with binge eating and what helped us might help someone else. One thing we do over here in purely twins world is be honest, be purely us and share our struggles and what has helped us. We want to help people learn more about their behaviors (or just be more mindful) around food to start feeling more free and relaxed around food.
When we first started to binge eat we didn’t really know what we were doing. The more we did binge it started to become a habit for us. No one made us have this disorder, we did it to ourselves.
In the video we share more of our binge eating story and 9 mindsets that helped us overcome our binge eating disorder.
9 tips to help end binge eating disorder

We know what’s it like to eat thousands of calories in one sitting followed by tremendous guilt and shame. We would tell ourselves we would never do this again.
We feel our binge eating patterns happened because of us restricting ourselves for so long with how we ate. We hated ourselves for doing it so we would try to offset our binge eating with over-exercising. Which you can see more about our story with over-exercising here.

We hope our tips and story will help you! Remember you can heal.
9 mindsets that helped us with overcoming binge eating
(We go over these in depth in the video, here’s a quick recap).
Stopped fighting it.
Stopped over-thinking and over-analyzing why it was happening.
Stopped trying to be perfect and started loving ourselves.
Stopped punishing ourselves with over-exercising.
Allowed for “fun” foods. Stopped the restricting.
Dropped all labels. See more here on how this helped us.
Created new habits.
Stopped the need to control ourselves and attempts to fix ourselves. Had to learn to relax more.
And for the big one. Realized binge eating is a primal instinct. It’s not really us. We aren’t bad people for doing it. It is just our bodies trying to survive from restricting.
Everyone’s journey to not binge eating anymore will be different. Take baby steps. Changing your mindset and changing your focus on making behavioral changes will help you create better long-term habits.
Your mindset is a huge part in your relationship with yourself and with food.
Change your mindset around thinking of binge eating.
Remember you can overcome it. Be patient and realize it takes time. Enjoy getting to know yourself more along your journey to healing.
We know how hard and scary binge eating can be. We were once in your shoes. We know what’s it like to just eat and eat. We also know what it is like to not have the need to binge eat anymore. You can too.
Our binge eating habits took some time to end as we haven’t binged in over 2 years. See binge eating as a survival instinct from your body. It usually happens from all the restricting and dieting we do to ourselves.
We want you to start focusing on your inside. When you do the outside will take care of itself.
