We wanted to share some of our favorite tools that we personally used to jump start our spiritual healing journey. Once we started reading and doing more self-love practices on a daily basis we started to feel damn good.
You’ve seen us share some already big mindset shifts we had to work through to start really living our lives with happiness and abundance.
If you met us in high school or college you probably would not recognize us as the self-assured babes we are today.
We owe it to these resources.
Our spiritual journey to more self-love and acceptance started to really take form last year . Over the past few years we started to make more and more positive life changes but something just wouldn’t stick. We found ourselves going back to old habits and negative ways of thinking. Never moving forward in life.
We realized the thing that needed to be addressed was – our minds. It definitely was the missing link for so long.
In the past all we read were cookbooks, fitness, diet and health books which isn’t bad, but for girls who were obsessed with body image in order to fit in they probably weren’t the best books for us to be reading.
We did dapple into self-improvement books a few years ago, like Choosing Happiness (which we still have today). Michelle got this book years ago when she was battling her depression and dealing with her acne and having no self-confidence. It helped.
But again we would read it and the words went in one ear and out the other. Nothing was sticking. We still kept going back to old habits. Feeling stuck. Unhappy. Lost.
Then over these past few years we would still be interested in learning about self-love and self-improvement but never really made it a priority. We would “have” to know about the newest health or diet trend out there. We now realized we were scared. Scared to get to know ourselves.
But then Michelle’s eczema turned for the worst and she literally was at rock bottom.
We started researching again other ways to heal that didn’t involve diet at all. She mentioned a few books before that helped her during her journey and since then we have invested more into spiritual, self-acceptance, mindset and finance books as we realized other parts of our lives needed healing. Money was a big block we had to work through last year thanks to our business coach. She really opened our eyes that we really can have all that we desire and we are worthy of it. We will have to do a follow-up post on just that stuff alone as we have noticed many of our readers and fans do not value themselves enough to invest in themselves, which is so sad to us. So many of them have amazing potential and are holding themselves back. Maybe you are doing the same?
One thing that really jump started our journey was this video. We would listen to this before bed as much as we could.
We realized if we wanted to change, to heal, to be successful, to move forward in life we needed to change our minds.
We knew how to workout to maintain our weight; we knew how to eat to have balance and to feel good; but we lacked knowing who we truly were. We lacked having a positive mindset.
Mindset is everything. It is not something you focus on just once. It takes practice. Daily practice.

Louise Hay’s Heal Your Body – A great read and we want to get more of Louise’s books! We even bought some of her audio downloads through Hay House. They are fantastic.
Think and Grow Rich – We got this has on audio book on our ipad and really like it. We try to listen to it during the day so our subconscious mind can hear the information. This book has so many powerful lessons in it.
The Secret – This one might be a little too woo-woo for some but we felt it really opened our eyes to the idea behind the Law of Attraction. We were intrigued and it affected us in a very positive way to start focusing on our thoughts.
The Big Leap – We got this one from our business coach last year and it totally made us think differently about how we approach our business and lives. Great book. We plan on reading it again. Very powerful.
May Cause Miracles – We love Gabby. We enjoy her approach to meditation and just life. We also have her Spirt Junkie book. We enjoyed this book as she has a focus for each day. Makes it easy to follow and do.
Desire Map – This one is a new one that we talked about desires and changes here. Danielle really helped us get deeper with our desires and what we wanted in life. She made us think about goals differently. Life changing. If you are looking for something to really get your brain thinking differently and more on how you want to feel this is a great book.
The School of Greatness – We love Lewis’s podcast so we knew we would enjoy his book. We got it at the end of last year and enjoyed starting to read it more this year with a new attitude! Love this approach to being great. We hope to make a big impact in the world. This book helped us realize we can be great.
Ask and It is Given – We enjoyed this book so much. Michelle is also signed up for their daily emails, which is nice to get a wonderful message every day reminding us of our thoughts. If you are looking for a book that truly is inspiring and makes you think about how you approach things in your daily life this book will do that. Another very powerful book.
We plan to read these books again and again as every time we learn something new. Plus, we have a stack of new books we are working through.
We will never stop investing in ourselves because we know how powerful and life changing it can be. If we didn’t invest in getting these books or hiring a coach we wouldn’t be where we are today. We are so pumped about the future and will continue to surround ourselves with uplifting, motivating books and people who inspire us to keep dreaming big.
We love reading and keeping our minds full of positive, motivating and inspirational things. Self-love is an on-going practice, so make sure you are doing something every day to keep you positive and moving forward!
