3 things holding you back in life to be successful and how to overcome them
As you will see below all three things we personally struggled with and are excited to share how we approach them now. We have to be more mindful about our thoughts and practice self-love daily.
Self-love is something you have to do every day just like brushing your teeth.
It’s time to stop doing these 3 mistakes so you too can find happiness in your life.
3 mistakes holding you back in life
Mistake 1 – Labeling yourself as unworthy – not good enough.
We are guilty of this! Big time.
When you do this you shut yourself down from growth. It holds you back.
HOW TO FIX :
Let go of labels. Side note this helps with issues around food too. It was a key factor in us getting over our eating disorder. Open your heart and mind and you will see all the possibilities around you. This takes time. The more you let go of labels of any kind you’ll see you are enough and have enough.
Mistake 2 – The need to always be perfect.
A huge struggle for us, which we know every women has. How can we not with all the pressure and images around us? We all have the power to be HAPPY with who we are now as we are purely ourselves. #bepurelyyou When you strive for perfection it does more harm than good. It’s damaging to your success as life will never be perfect. There is always change…something to do…to update, etc.
HOW TO FIX:
Reflect on your accomplishments. ALL of them: big and small. This is something we never did. It was our mom that would always remind us, “Girls look at what you have done. Your business. Your pictures.” We would always just see “this needs to be fixed.” We didn’t realize this was blocking us from moving forward. So we want you to focus on what you have DONE and are DOING. Not on what you didn’t do. Change your mindset around being perfect and just strive to be YOU!
Mistake 3 – Needing approval from others.
Ding, ding, ding! Boy does this make life miserable. Do you agree? Why do we let others have so much control over our lives? When you start seeing yourself as worthy (see mistake 1) you will start to not care what others think. Of course there will be days that someone brings you down, but you are stronger and you don’t let it keep you down for long. You realize you have everything inside of you to succeed.
HOW TO FIX:
Remind yourself it’s your choice. Strengthen your core values.
What feels right for you. A great way to start looking within yourself to realize you are an incredible person is to meditate or journal. Allow yourself to go within yourself. This is something that doesn’t come natural to us. As we mentioned in mistake 2. Start keeping track of your daily wins, this will help build your self-worth and help you see you don’t need others’ approval. Let go of the idea to seek validation from others – this takes daily practice. When you take time to learn who you truly are you’ll be amazed about what you discover. And ask for guidance this is something we have been focusing on more lately.
