Sharing our journey down to FL traveling by plane for the first time with Madison.
Madison enjoyed her first airplane ride.
Madison is excited to play with her cousin down at the beach!
The plane ride went well. I was nervous about it all but everything turned out to be just fine. Madison fell asleep about 15 minutes before we started the boarding process and stayed sleeping while we boarded the plane. I was hoping she would stay sleeping… but she woke up as the plane was pulling away from the gate. I then thought this is great I will be able to nurse her as we take off. Well, 30 minutes later we finally were about to take off (the airport was busy so we had to wait in a line before we could take off) and good thing because she started to get fussy as she was getting hungry. I was able to nurse her while we took off. Phew.
She stayed awake for the whole flight. It was an hour and half long flight. At the beginning she was really fussy and was fighting going back to sleep. Michelle and I tried everything to calm her down so she would sleep. But no. Madison was not wanting to sleep. So what do we do? We eat to distract her. We pulled out our plantain waffles and we all enjoyed them. It was a great distraction. She loved playing with the magazines in the back of the seat. We sprayed the entire area with our DoTerra OnGuard spray we made to help get rid of any germs. I knew Madison would be touching everything (and she did).
The rest of the flight she was great. Laughing and having a great time. Then when we started to land she got a little fussy again. I tried nursing her but she didn’t want to. So I put her pacifier in to help with her ears. She did good. I was so proud of her. And everyone around her said she did great. They were all so nice. It was more stressful for me than Madison, as I think all moms would understand.
I am so blessed to have Michelle there to help since Gary is coming later to join us. Well time to enjoy some sun.
