Thank you for all the sweet comments and words of encouragement for Michelle. Both of us are deeply honored and feel so blessed to have such an amazing community here at Purely Twins. I know reading everyone’s comments, emails and facebook messages meant the world to Michelle. Your messages will definitely help in her healing by providing her with a feeling of not being alone, that she has hundreds of you guys supporting her along her eczema journey.
I remember when I shared my cystic acne pictures for the first time here on the blog I was so nervous about how our readers would react. But you guys were there for me. Giving me support and advice along my very long journey. I can’t thank YOU enough for helping me get through my darkest days, months and years of being an acne sufferer. I know Michelle feels the same way. I know she knows that you guys will always be there for her.
Seeing your loved ones going through something painful like eczema or acne is a hard thing to watch. I know from when Michelle suffered with acne I hated seeing her cry and get so depressed. I know she felt the same way when I was going through my acne struggle. Now with her eczema struggle it honestly breaks my heart.
I hate seeing her cry or itch her legs while wishing them to stop. I would do anything to help her. Sometimes I do feel helpless. Like I have nothing to offer her for relief. All I can do is be there for her, rub essential oils on her feet, encourage her to keep fighting and let her know that she is not alone. Thanks again for allowing us to share our personal struggles here on the blog in such a public way. It’s not easy for us but when we get that email saying how much our story inspired or helped that one person in some way makes our story worth sharing! xo
Okay time for non-health related post for today. Remember I promised to share my house remodeling updates pictures. Here I am today sharing them with you. Now the house is not officially done because I still have some organizing and decorating to do. I am not the world’s greatest interior decorator. It takes me a long time to really decorate as it doesn’t come natural for me like working out or cooking does. I love pinterest for decorating and home ideas!
I can finally say that we are done with construction for the house at the moment.
This house remodeling was a huge project to undertake. A project that I wanted done before baby M arrives in 2 months or so.
Gary and I have done just about everything you could to do this house that we bought 2 years ago. We knew when buying this home that it needed A LOT of work. It was going to be a long ride before it felt like our home. 😉 I remember sitting down and writing a list of all the things I would like to do to the house. Never really thinking the majority of it would happen. I actually put a lot of those house projects in a priority list. The biggest one being our upstairs bathroom remodel and building our fence (which we did ourselves – never again).
This most recent house remodeling was the next biggest project that I dreamed of getting done. Now my dream is reality.
Whew. It’s been a wild ride. Crazy to see how much this house has changed since the beginning.
Before and after house remodeling pictures of new wood floors and floor plan.
What the flooring and downstairs looked like vs. having no wall with new wood flooring.
Sorry for the bad before picture I was having a hard time finding an old picture of that wall.
Construction of taking down the wall took about 1-2 days and another 1-2 days to get it looking like a normal wall again.
It was so fancinstaing to watch the stages and see the new room come together.
No wall! To be honest it was a surreal feeling.
This has been an idea of Gary’s and I for a few months now. We kept going back and forth on what we wanted to happen. After much debate we finally decided to take the plunge and do this house remodel project.
Now that the wall was taken out it was time to update the floors!
The last project!! (famous last words, right?) Are house projects really ever done?
And now we have a new home
No more wall separating the two main rooms downstairs.
I absolutely love how the family/tv room now gets more sunlight.
Slowly the decorations are coming together. I still have some items to put out to complete the room, but getting there. Sorry for the cleaning items in the picture, we were in the middle of cleaning up the dust and moving things around while Michelle was taking some pics for me.
The dining room area turned out great.
I just love how I can now see the fireplace which allows a more open floor plan feel compared to what it was before. We’ve now repainted this area. We took this picture in the middle of putting the final touches on. I have not been able to take more pictures yet of the final look because it has been raining so the lighting is horrible.
View from the back of the tv room looking into the kitchen and dining room area. Jax loves the new house and flooring.
The new flooring turned out great as well.
Gary and I are very pleased with how well the contractor handled everything and the final outcome of the project.
Like I mentioned above it now feels like home. I love walking downstairs and having it feel updated. I feel so blessed to be able to do a project like this. We went over our budget a little (which always seems to happen) so things are a little tight around here.
I will share more house picture updates once everything is decorated and finished Hopefully it will happen before baby M makes her appearance.
I am off today to hopefully take more maternity photos with Jax and Gary but the weather is not cooperating… so not sure how well it’s going to go.
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.
Do you like house remodeling projects? Do you like seeing before and after pictures?
What has been a huge house project for you in your home? Are you good a decorating? Where do you find your inspiration?
Do you hire out or do things yourself? We’ve done both.
