Well no more relaxing by the pool or lagoon at Duck Key. Nope. But I must say I really enjoyed myself during those few days while on vacation and experiencing baby M’s first baby shower. It’s always amazing how quickly vacations go by. You plan and look forward to it for so long, and then it’s gone. Now back to reality. Back to work 🙂
I can’t wait to start unpacking all the suitcases with the baby shower goodies to put in the nursery.
I proudly wore my bikini and rocked that baby bump 🙂
Hitting 28 weeks means I have entered my 3rd trimester!! Crazy to think I have just about 3 months left to go before baby M is here with us.
I must say I am soooo excited for that day. Also excited to continue to get things ready at the house for the baby and plan out the next baby shower in August. And anxious to see the changes in our house as we are having some work done this week! I will show pictures once it is all done!!
PREGNANCY WEEK 28 UPDATE:
Current food cravings?
Well since being on vacation I always tend to crave more sweets than I normally do. And this trip was no different. I had similar cravings as last week.
Some days I even added more macadamia nut butter on top. OMG. Delicious.
And the other night Michelle and I whipped up this brownie cookie cake but kept them separate and topped with coconut butter frosting. We made them grain-free by using pumpkin seed flour for some of the gluten-free flours.
I also really loved eating savory meals like this grilled grouper with grilled veggies.
Plus kale chips is all I want lately. This past week I ate kale chips about every day.
Not sure what it is about them, but they are hitting the spot! Crunchy. Savory. Perfect!
Same issues as last week. My belly has been itching all the time. I usually rub coconut oil with lavender essential oil on it to help.
No bloating or any major swelling yet. Sometimes I feel I have swelling around my feet.
I am still wearing my wedding ring.
Don’t really see any new ones.
Nothing too major. But I have been missing sushi. I love sushi and can’t wait to eat it again!
How is your skin?
My skin is doing fine. No major changes or complaints. I do have 2 small pimples on left cheek but that is about it. And since they are small I am not really stressing over them. They probably came due to eating one too many sweets this past week while on vacation. But I am back home and will get back to my normal eats around here. Overall I am still very happy with how my skin is handling the changing hormones from being pregnant.
How is digestion?
Digestion is doing well. My bowel movements are good most days. They did slow down while being at Duck Key for a few days, but since being back I am already starting to go again so feeling better.
I have been experiencing acid reflux more often. Not fun.
Total weight gain/loss?
Belly is growing so naturally gaining some weight. I do feel since I ate a few more sweets and relaxed more than normal (I did not take my daily walks like I usually do) I feel I gained some weight. But I am not stressing over it as I know this is my final push to the end and I will get my old body back. And I feel by me staying active for majority of my pregnancy will help me recover faster. We shall see in a few months. Overall I am very pleased with my body.
How’s the baby?
Baby M is about the size of an eggplant or another site says cauliflower. About over 2lbs.
She is still most active in the evenings. And when I do drink a kombucha or eat something with coconut oil she gets a little active too. I have not noticed any hiccups yet. To be honest I am not sure what to listen or feel for, I assume I would naturally realize it’s her hiccuping.
NOW FOR MY PREGNANCY WORKOUTS FROM LAST WEEK:

Even traveling I was able to stay active most days. I did notice that some days my energy slowed down in the workouts. But overall I felt good moving the body some each day. I am curious how my body will continue to change over this 3rd trimester with my workouts. I am hopeful that I will be able to do most things that I am used to doing but know that I will continue to modify certain exercises in our purely fit life workouts.
Monday – did purely HIIT #4 a 12 minute interval workout inside the club
Tuesday – did purely HIIT #13 – a 12 minute interval workout inside the club
Wednesday- about 25 minute walk with some planks
Thursday-10 minute bodyweight workout
Friday-10 minute bodyweight workout. I did lots of lunges.
Saturday- 10 minute bodyweight workout. Played around with the hotel’s gym bosu ball. I forgot how much I like using that for a awesome leg and core action.
Sunday- rest day
I am looking forward to being home and getting back into my purely fit life regular workouts. And my daily walks with Jax. Oh how much I missed that dog. This was the longest I have been away from him. And it was tough. I love that dog so much. I don’t like being away from him for very long. I know crazy dog mom 😉
I am excited and a little nervous about the 3rd trimester in terms of how my body will continue to handle this pregnancy. I have been feeling so blessed and grateful for how well I have been feeling. I hope it continues.
