I am at 27 weeks which means I am getting closer to coming into my 3rd trimester. Crazy!!! The final stretch before baby M is here 🙂 Just about 12 weeks left!!
I am currently home in south Florida with my family. I helped celebrate my niece’s 4th birthday on Saturday and had my first baby shower on Sunday with close friends at my parent’s house. I had planned this baby shower for a few weeks now as this is probably my only time coming home before the little one arrives. The timing just worked out great to do it now. We combined the shower with a family trip so Gary was able to come.
I will be sharing a whole separate post on the baby shower as I am still editing all the photos. I will have them up soon!!!
My belly definitely has popped.
Each day I feel I look bigger and bigger.
We are here for a few more days for a family vacation. I am missing Jax like crazy. Gary’s parents are watching him and I make Gary call his parents about every day to check in. Crazy dog-mom I know. I just miss that little guy.
My glucose blood testing at home is going well. I have been doing it for a few days and my results have been under what the doctor wants. I did have two readings that were over by 2 points. I plan to let my doctor know my readings for the past week and see how I am doing in his eyes. I hope he is pleased with how well I am doing. It’s been fun (in a weird way) to see how my body reacts to certain meals. The more fat and protein I have in my meals the better my numbers are… so fascinating to me. I feel I am learning my body in a whole new way. Love it.
PREGNANCY WEEK 27 UPDATE:
Current food cravings?
Sweets 🙂 Gelato. I think most of these cravings are happening because I am home and on vacation. So I have a more relaxed mindset. And what can I say… I am a sweets girl at heart.
My appetite has felt normal. Again some days I eat a little more than others but overall I am listening to my body and eat when I’m hungry.
I am still enjoying my morning bulletproof coffee.
One morning I enjoyed some eggs and a slice of bacon.
I’ve enjoyed a few grain-free cupcakes.
And snacking on some yummy grain-free cookies.
No major symptoms to report. Minor things like stuffy nose, low back pain, getting hot and emotions all over the place. Some days I do notice some acid reflux issues. Annoying.
No bloating or swelling and wedding ring is still on. Feet do feel a little swollen sometimes.
Don’t think so but again I don’t stare that much to notice.
Nothing too major. Just simple day to day things that you can take for granted when you don’t have extra weight or a big belly in your way.
How is your skin?
The large cystic pimple that I had on my chin is slowing getting smaller, just about almost gone!! My skin loves the essential oils and nerium serum that I use every day to help keep my face looking great. Each day I feel more and more confident in my own skin which is a huge improvement from a few months ago. I feel I am getting that pregnancy glow!
How is digestion?
Digestion is doing well. My bowel movements are good most days. Now that I am traveling it slows down a little. But I am keeping up with drinking my water and magnesium to help keep things moving. I miss my squatty potty. I wish I could pack that up to bring with me as I travel!! Maybe one day they will make a travel sized one.
Total weight gain/loss?
Belly is growing so naturally gaining some weight. Overall I am feeling strong and good. I am trying not to worry too much about how much or how little weight I gain during this pregnancy as I feel my body will adjust to what it needs. I continue to listen to my body but also stay active and make healthy choices the majority of the time. Of course there are some days where I eat a few extra sweets (what I have been doing lately) but I do my best to balance it out with workouts (which I have been doing workouts everyday). Keeping this balance is what I like. It is who I am. I love both food and fitness.
How’s the baby?
Baby M is about the size of a cauliflower head.
She is most active with her kicking at night when I am in bed trying to sleep.
I don’t really track her kicks, as I feel that would just bring on extra stress.
I mentally track her kicks. But again, I’m trying not to worry too much about when she kicks. Sometimes I notice she is active followed by not being as active. So sitting there tracking all those movements all the time would drive me crazy.
I do admit at the beginning I was so worried about her kicking.
I worried when I didn’t feel her kick. Once I felt some kicks I would be so relieved. I do love it when I feel her kick. Sometimes her kicks do startle me as they will be out of the blue and so strong!
I have been talking with my family and friends about baby kicks to see if they are really that important to track or not. Majority of them said that the heartbeat is more important and for me not to worry or stress over how much or little she kicks. That is what I am trying to do. It’s hard I admit.

Again overall week 27 is treating me and baby M well.
I can’t wait to get into my 3rd trimester to see what the last few weeks will bring to me. I have been so lucky and blessed with an amazing pregnancy so far.
I can’t wait to be holding her!!
