We have some fun things to discuss in today’s post!
First we have a kettlebell swing challenge starting April 1!!
Why do kettlebell swings?
- offers both cardiovascular and strength-training benefits
- strengthens and tones the body
- requires minimal equipment, just the kettlebell
- requires minimal space
- develops all purpose strength
- a mix of strength with flexibility
- improves physique and gets rid of fat (yay who doesn’t what that?)
- and they are fun!
Kettlebell swings are one of the best all-around exercises for fitness at home! You can do them anywhere, anytime.
Are you ready to join us?
We are going to be doing two-handed kettlebell swings.
Stand with your feet 6–12 inches outside of shoulder width on either side, each foot pointed outward about 30 degrees. Keep your shoulders pulled back and down. Begin to lower and swing back as if you were going to be sitting back in a chair. You are not squatting. Pop your hips forward as you squeeze your butt!
Pregnant? No worries you can do this with us too! Kettlebells can be a great exercise for pregnant women, as Lori is doing the challenge too! You might need to scale back the weight when doing kettlebell swings during pregnancy. Please check with your doctor before starting any new fitness routine.
According to many experts, a reasonable, moderate kettlebell routine can actually improve body response in the pelvic floor and help prepare a woman for the physical hard work that goes into labor.
Okay who is ready to do some kettlebell swings?
Here is the schedule we are planning on doing. Print one off so you can do this with us!

Starting April 1 we will be doing 26 reps. And each day increase by one rep all the way to April 26!!
Why April 26? It’s our birthday 🙂 So our challenge is to do kettlebell swings everyday until our birthday and we WANT YOU to join us!
Okay now time to EAT!
In today’s vlog we discuss how things have changed since Lori found out she is pregnant, what does it mean for purelytwins and we talk more about the kettlebell challenge. Actually we do 26 reps, so get ready to move the body as you watch us 🙂
We hope we have inspired you to grab some kettlebells and make some thin mint french toast for breakfast! Two things you probably would never see together in one sentence. Only here on PT, right? 😉
You all know we love to eat and love to workout! We are excited to do this 26 day kettlebell challenge and look forward to seeing all of you doing it too. Make sure you use the hashtags #purelytwins and #purelyfitlife so we can see and encourage one another!
By the end we will all be purely fit and strong!
