Happy Saturday! Hope you are having a wonderful day so far. I am hoping to do some more house related things today. One being painting an old table for my dining room. I have been wanting a new dining room table for awhile and decided on taking a second table that we have (passed down from my older sisters) that is currently in the sun room. I plan to attempt at re-painting it to be my new dining room table. Fingers crossed.
Besides the table my dining room is coming along.
Continuing with my house and painting updates from last time. Today I am sharing what we did for the dining room area.
Here are some before pictures of the room when we first started painting the baseboards white.
Again these walls had the same ugly yellow color that the loft area had.
Feels like forever ago that all the first rounds of baseboards painting were happening. It was just over a year ago. Crazy how time goes by so fast.
Before wall and after wall.
Love the new light peachy color. Who knew that I would like this base of a color. Especially when I have been all about grey, yellow and turquoise.
But I feel this simple wall color allows me to bring in those colors that I love for accent pieces.
A few more before and after shots.
Love the feeling that the new color brings to the room. Still need updated flooring but that will have to wait until we have the budget for it.
It took Gary and I a few discussions on what color to paint this room.
I still wanted to have some grey tones in this room to match the other rooms, but Gary wanted something different. So we went back and forth for a few days until we agreed on a color. For this room we used a color called museum. It has a slight peach tone to it. I forgot to mention for my grey walls the paint colors were snowfall (lighter shade) and greyish (the darker wall).
Anyone else take awhile in deciding on paint colors?
I must admit I really love how this color turned out in this room.
Feels so fresh and clean now.
Came across this live laugh love sign and loved it. Thought it would be perfect in this room.
As life is about living every moment, laughing everyday, and love beyond words. Agree?
Also found a cute picture with trees and a bird on it that helps bring in that hint of color and character to the walls, along with my other decorations.
Kept this room pretty simple. As Gary does not like too many things on the walls.
But that is the kitchen table that I no longer want. Not really sure why I don’t like the table anymore, just not in love with it anymore. So hopefully here soon I will have a newly painted and new kitchen table. (you can kinda see the second table there in the sun room in the back of the picture, that is the one we are painting to replace this one). I will do my best to capture the DIY table painting project.
We also painted in the kitchen and in the den which I shall share here soon.
Well there is a few more painting picture updates for you. Hope you enjoyed seeing more of what I have been doing with the house. There is a long list of items I would still like done but little by little making progress
Love being able to see the house really come together over time. It allows me to really think and plan out what I want. It’s no Martha Stewart home but feeling like home to me. I am having fun with the remodeling and doing some things ourselves. And pinterest helps too.
Twins question: What are your plans this Saturday? How has your September been so far? Any updates on your home?
till next time,
