You know what day it is? Yep… Move-It-Monday!
Time to workout and move the body today. We have our #purelyfitlife workout #24.
We felt it was time to have a great sweaty workout. And you can do this workout anywhere and done in under 20 minutes!
In this workout we incorporated one of our favorite plank based exercises – plank step-ups. Plank step-ups are a challenging core exercise that targets the abs and obliques. And we further enhance those muscles by adding in a knee-to-elbow.
Why we love doing these exercises:
- The deeper and closer to the spine the particular abdominal muscle is, the more effect over body posture it will have.
- Obliques serve as stabilizers, and are used in almost every physical activity.
For more strength and little cardio action we added in squat with a sandbag and kick forward. The faster you do these the more ‘cardio’ it can be. And the kick forward is another great move to engage your core more.
And for the last movement in this workout is sumo squat mixed with powering up. You do 5 sumo squat pulses to target your thighs and move to the floor to power yourself up. Sumo squat pulses with power up is great for more cardio action plus building up that strength in the legs and upper body. We love doing sumo squats because it focuses on the inner thighs, and that body part can be overlooked.
This 16 minute home workout will help get you feeling sexy and toned. Challenge yourself with using some weights with this workout.

- A-fits (advanced peeps) : Use a heavy weight for the squats. Move as fast as you can within the 30 seconds.
- B-fits (beginner peeps): Go at your own pace. You can omit the step up for the plank and just step side to side. Use light weights for the squats.
