Hello friends! Well we are at Walt Disney here in Orlando for a few days hanging with our family and celebrating our niece’s 3rd birthday. Well it is not really her birthday just yet – it’s later this month. But this was the one time our whole family was able to be together so we are celebrating it earlier. Which is fine with her as she gets a few more presents and cupcakes!

Gary and I (Lori) started our day at 3am to make the drive down to Orlando.

greej juice blue

Juice first thing to get be going.  Enjoyed a BluePrint Cleanse green juice that I got from Whole Foods. It was pretty good. Different but decent.  It has been a long time since I have had celery so I think that taste was throwing it off for me.  Michelle and I are not big celery fans.

bread in bag

Enjoyed half of my protein plantain bread.

plantain bread in car

Perfect traveling meal for me.

starbucks cup

Finally made it to a Starbucks in GA off I-95. Much needed!!!

Later it was kombucha time.  I also sipped on a coconut water that I did not take a picture of.

breakfast michelle

Michelle’s breakfast was 2 bananas, hard boiled egg and coffee.

disney entrance

We made it!

Even through the 4+ of driving during the rain!!! We survived. We were so happy to arrive at Disney.

I am not a big fan of driving in the rain especially long distance. Saw some crazy accidents.

Crazy weather yesterday in Florida!

michelle breakfast

Gary and I finally arrived at the resort to meet-up with the rest of the family. Saved half my protein plantains for Michelle and me to have at lunch with a little mahi mahi (from the Disney resort) and leftover veggies from my house.

hug loved one

We both hugged our loved ones for our #PFChallenge! Did you?

the gifts

We played by the pool once the rain stopped then it was time to get ready for dinner and gift time.

After the gifts were open it was time for cupcakes! Michelle ordered a lot of gluten-free vegan cupcakes from BabyCakes here at their Orlando store.

We ordered the cupcakes and had them delivered to our hotel but the cupcakes ended up getting lost. Not sure how you could lose 24 cupcakes but it happened. Luckily they eventually found them and had them sent to our room.

12 chocolate and 12 vanilla!

our cupcakes

Delicious.  The vanilla ones were a tad dry but the chocolate ones were perfect.

She loves her cupcakes!

Love her little pink dress too!

ring box

Then there was a surprise gift for all of us girls from our parents.

the rings

We each got rings that are from 4 family generations that our mom had.

new rings

In love with them!

close rings

Beautiful and so honored to be able to wear something with such family history!

We each enjoyed one glass of wine before heading to dinner.

joy at dinner

Joy keeps everyone very entertained 😉

dinner 1

My plate (Lori) was veggies with ribeye. I got mine cooked medium and it was perfect. Hit the spot for me.

dinner 2

Michelle’s plate: veggies with pork tenderloin with pork belly. She said it was good but different. Not sure if she would get it again or not. But enjoyed trying something different.

It was a LONG day but sooo worth it in the end 🙂  We love being able to spend time with our family. And love going to Disney.

We hit the bed early as we have all been up really early and have a busy Friday! We hope you are having a magical day!

Twins question: Do you like driving in the rain? Do you like driving long distances? What is the longest you have driven in the rain before? Have you ever ordered something to be delivered to a hotel and they lose it?

What do you like to do with your family? Do you go on family vacations?  Did you hug a loved one yesterday?

till next time,

  3. Glad you all finally got the cupcake delivery! A similar thing happened when I went with my church youth group to New Orleans. It was our first night there and they decided to order pizza. Even though I wasn’t eating it, somehow I got stuck in the group who had to wait for it to arrive. Lol. Well, we waited in the hotel lobby for about three hours and it never came. We called and called. Nothing. So we ordered more pizzas from the same company, just a different location. Within a half an hour they arrived… Followed just minutes later by our ORIGINAL pizzas. We got the one set for free, but still— there were some hungry/grumpy teenagers with nothing to eat at 11:00 at night.

That plaintain bread looks like it’s perfect for packing on trips!

  7. you seem very smart and wise. I am a bit older than you and struggling with binge eating and last night was the worst yet. I feel very badly about it (it was over 1500 calories at 10 pm in one sitting and it included a king sized bag of popchips that i didn’t even like or want but “had” to finish…I don’t exercise and have bowel issues so I feel like the worst girl in the world and …”unclean”. I know you can’t offer professional advice, but I just need a sound voice at this time…please email me if you can….i’m in tears and feeling “ruined” forever now. Forgive me. i feel so horrible. I feel that at my age and with messed up hormones and metabolism, i’m ruining myself FOREVER and ever 🙁
normally i binge on “safe” foods (healthier)…this was horrible…and i ddint’ even enjoy it or want it…I feel like the food is forever in me (no purging or exercise and constipation..and NO chance at colonics, etc). I know you aren’t doctors, but I really respect your perspectives…PLEASE email..so lost and down.
