Good morning friends!
How is everyone doing today? We hope you answered – great!
Our day yesterday was just superb. Maybe it was that it was hot and sunny. Or maybe because we are getting closer to going to Blend. Or maybe it was that we enjoyed the perfect creamy protein shake.
Maybe it was a combo of everything. Anyways we had excellent day. Love those days when you just feel good all day long and you don’t let anything upset you. Anyone else?
To add to our feel good day we filmed another #purelyfitlife workout late afternoon. We did not workout first thing in the morning like we normally do. Even though we enjoy working out in the daylight we do love getting our workouts done first thing in the morning. But changing it up is fun too.
We also did our 50 push-ups for Michelle’s personal goal for #whatsbeatiful and did practice our headstands for my personal goal. #iwill or should we say #wewill haha

Started our morning with lemon water. Talked about the agenda for the day. Took our morning supplements and gelatin like every morning.
We decided to try a higher protein breakfast than we usually have been eating. Breakfast was a green juice (carrots, cucumber, kale, romaine and fresh ginger). We enjoyed our juice with some leftover tuna and salmon from previous days, zucchini and half avocado with ghee.
Even though this was very tasty it did make us a little bloated afterwards. But then we talked about it and realized we both felt a little dehydrated from drinking extra coffee the day before (and did not do great with drinking water) and staying up till midnight doing work. So we felt we can’t really judge this high protein meal due to those factors. We will have to try it again another day.
Jax is really loving his new bed. Such a helper too 😉
Went to Whole Foods to get some things and we each grabbed a coconut water. We really like this brand. We feel it is a very good quality coconut water. A little expensive so it is a nice treat to have every once in awhile.
We both were craving a nice cold smoothie for lunch. We grabbed our favorite go-to protein — perfect fit. Blended it with bananas, ice cubes and added in coconut oil. And added a splash of water. Creamy and delicious.
purelytwins quick and easy perfect creamy protein shake: serves 2
- 2 bananas
- 1/2 – 1 cup ice cubes
- about 1/2 cup water
- 2 scoops perfect fit protein powder (or any protein powder)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
Blend and enjoy!
**note: the coconut oil does get a little clumpy from the smoothie being cold but we liked the little texture the oil gave 😉
The perfect cold and creamy protein shake. Just what our bodies were craving. Splendid!
Bananas and ice cubes are perfect ingredients to us for making a really good smoothie. As we like ours thick.
We each got our hair cut. Mainly just a little fresh trim. Always feels nice to get a hair cut. Makes us feel like new people again in a weird way. Like we are starting fresh or something. And getting a hair cut always seems to put us in a good mood.
After our workout we enjoyed this post workout meal. Eggs with half avocado, white rice and some turnips. And had one raw yolk. Another perfect meal. There was something about this meal that just made us feel good. Excellent. Could eat that meal over and over… wait we kinda do.
Going along with us trying to eat more balanced meals to help with hormones. We are not freaking out about our macros either per se. We look at it as an experiment. We are just playing around with numbers to find our ‘magic’ balance.
An experiment to see what our bodies like in terms of macros as well as the kind of foods we are eating.
We are paying close attention to skin (so far both are doing well, Lori’s face is calming down and not really getting new pimples, back acne is going away – slowly. And now dealing with scars on back – not pretty). We still go through periods of really bad itchy skin on our legs (Michelle still has red patches on hers) so focusing on days when the itching is bad and what we might be causing it. Also paying attention to overall feelings (like were we sad, happy, depressed, focused, tired) that day. Focusing on our bowel movements (taking magnesium 2-3 times a day really helps). And focusing on if our bodies are getting more or less muscle mass (as we both want a little more muscle definition).
As you can see we are watching a lot of different things with our daily diet. We will continue to share our findings and thoughts on what is working and not working. It is a lot of information to take it, so bare with us as we sort our own thoughts out. And just remember what might be working for us might not work for you. You have to do some experimenting as well.
Keep in mind though – always stay #purelyyou and #loveyourself no matter what!
