Just like the past mornings it was fresh juice time with the same ingredients.

Next was eggs with mache lettuce, coconut oil, leftover cod, and sweet potatoes. So far feeling good (in terms of digestion) with the sweet potatoes. Not sure yet how my skin is liking them. Only time will tell.

Next was egg perfect fit protein cake with cauliflower and coconut oil.

Dinner was sauted swiss chard, raw spiralized zucchini, mushrooms, steamed turnips, grass-fed ground beef, and half avocado. Delicious.

I had a good day yesterday.  I did have a little bit of an emotional breakdown late afternoon. I have a few things going on and guess my body just needed a break. Sometimes a little crying can really help, weird I know. But sometimes I feel it is good to cry. Get certain emotions out and be able to move on.

Love mixing my eggs on the skillet with lettuce and coconut oil, and yesterday I added in with some leftover salmon. So good!

For some reason I like the flavor of fish mixed with my eggs, anyone else?

Perfect fit hot cocoa! It is chilly here in south FL so having hot cocoa just hits the spot.

Sea bass for dinner and I just picked at the rice and sugar snap peas.

And dessert was goat yogurt on top of  protein chia seed thin mint cake. As much as I love mint, I did not like it with goat yogurt haha

A few weeks ago the nice people from Stretch Island Fruit Co.  send us some of their fruit strips to enjoy and review. We honestly did not know that much about this company but they have a great story and mission.  At Stretch Island, less is truly more – Real fruit, pure and simple —> we totally agree. Even though we can not eat our fruit as much as we would like (due to our bodies not really loving the sugar) we do like our fruits.  And these fruit strips are a nice change  besides eating just fruit. Kinda brought out the kid in us.  Gary has been enjoying them as well as sweet snacks at work.

They have a variety of flavors. So far our favorites have been the apricot, mango and strawberry ones.  They contain 1/2 serving of fruit and contain NO artificial additives.  They are gluten-free which is a plus for us.  We feel they are a great, quick sweet treat to enjoy for something a little different and fun. Plus easy to just throw in your purse and go.

thin-fruit-strips Can’t get over how thin they are! These fruit strips really remind us of fruit roll-ups that we ate when we were kids. They are packed with fruit flavor and sweetness.  We have enjoyed trying out these fruit strips, as we have always wanted to try making some homemade in our dehydrator but never got around to making them. So nice to have an option already made for you.

Anyone else ever try these fruit strips before? Did you eat fruit roll-ups as a kid? Do you make your own fruit strips at home?

  1. I love those fruit strips! I grab them from time to time if I am out and need a fast snack, and yes I ate fruit roll-ups all the time! I would wrap them around my finger and kinda make it into a sucker… weird?
    I have gotta to start spending a bit more time on figuring out my own diet, I have been having pop up acne too and trying to learn the culprit!

    And Lori, a good cry helps a ton from time to time! My husband never understand that #itsagirlthing!

  2. I neverrrrr ate fruit roll ups! Too sweet for me! I ate fruit to go’s though! They are just fruit leather :) They were a great snack as a child!

    Lori: I feel ya on the emotional stuff! I cried at the end of my 18 mile run the other day. It was a hard run mentally, and I think I was just overwhelmed. But the release felt good! And now I think I can move on :)
