We had a fun weekend, how about you? We took the weekend off from working out and just enjoyed some relaxation.

Highlighted a few things that sparked our interest

Enjoyed some new foods

Delicious. Love our baked donuts.

After a yummy first half of our Saturday… it was time to hit the road.

daveste vineyards

We headed to a winery north of Charlotte called Daveste. It was our first time to this winery.

It was small and so cute. A husband and wife started it and are still there today.

Met up with our dear friend Teri for some wine tasting. A favorite thing all three of us love to do.  Brought back memories from our last wine testing event together.

Seriously love Teri and we always have a blast with her whether over wine or good food.

We sample 6 wines – 3 whites and 3 reds. All were very unique and different.

After a quick discussion, we all decided on this bottle of reserve chardonnay. We are not normally chardonnay fans but we were really impressed with this one.

pouring wine

The day started off really rainy, cold and just depressing.

Nothing like some wine and good girl talk to brighten up the day.

outside drinking wine

Finally the sun came out. So we moved outside of course to enjoy the beautiful view.

Teri was so sweet (and smart) to bring some super delicious muffins (that were gluten and dairy free) for all of us to enjoy. Thanks Teri they were perfect!

michelle and teriAfter a few hours went by it was time to say goodbye.

lori and teri

Before leaving we already starting planning out our next adventure together… of course wine will be involved ;)

dinner-outWe decided to eat dinner out since neither one of us felt like cooking. We all deserve a night off, right?

Of course came home and ate a little dessert (recipe should be up on Friday you don’t want to miss it)!

What was the highlight of your weekend? Do you like going to wineries? How often do you do things in your local area?

till next time

I am from Toronto, but randomly enough I have actually been to this vineyard. We were visiting some friends and stopped in one sunny Sunday in the summer. It is such a lovely place. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the patio whilst listening to some great live music.
