house updates: painting baseboards white project continued

Hello friends!

Happy Saturday! Glad to see everyone is enjoying, or at least intrigued, by the sweet potato flour cakes. Let us know if you make them!

Now onto a big goal for me – house projects!

One thing I love about the weekends is that I have more time to do house remodeling projects.

One project that is an on-going project is painting the baseboards and doors white around the house. The fence project is still going, well all of it is up just have to stain it still. Getting closer to the whole project being done. yay!

Do you remember the last time I shared painting? I don’t haha. It has been that long.

Before:

I just felt like all the brown made the house feel dated and old.

Now after:

Today I am sharing the baseboard project.

I am always amazed how great white baseboards end up looking. So clean and refreshing I feel. Especially for this house.

Don’t you just love the blue tape.

Looks much better.

Room by room. Project by project. Slowly getting the house all updated :)

And now the kitchen before:

After:

We painted the two windows in the kitchen as well white.

Still trying to get Gary to let me paint the whole kitchen white. He is not a fan :(

I think it would look great. But he said painting the windows white is good enough at the moment.

Baby steps with him, haha.

Now, by having the windows white really helps brighten up the whole room!

Each day I try my best to do a little housework ;)

Do you like housework? Do you have any house projects going on?

I love house projects. I would go ahead and paint the kitchen all white!
I mean, if it ends up not like how you want it, it won’t be too hard to fix. Plus, if you paint it white, you can get pretty white cabinets to match!

looks great! amazing what some paint can do! We’re just finishing up our year of home repairs and updates. It’s a lot of work but it makes ALL the difference!

  3. painting is such a hard work! it gets old fast lol. i love white baseboards! this time around, our place has light gray baseboards with stark white walls…i am really digging that right now since our decor is very bright and colorful (sort of like my wardrobe haha).

no new projects for us since we are renting BUT i am trying to see if our landlords will let us have a pug—all your puppy pics have been giving me the heart tug :)

I agree that the kitchen needs something to brighten it up but I do love natural wood. I feel it’s a little criminal to paint over it, but what about painting the cupboard TRIM white? Would Gary be up for that? It would give provide both brightness and give the kitchen great accent.
