Anyone else watch the CrossFit games? It was insane…loved it. I watched them yesterday with the family (even grandma) and they all thought it was crazy! They could not believe Lori and I
like love burpees.
I am trying to get my niece to do a burpee with me!
Well, how do you fed an athlete like those cross fit athletes?
Protein muffins of course
Lori and I sure enjoyed these a few days ago. We made a few tweaks to our original recipe (which we love) mainly because of the ingredients we had on hand.
Purely Twins: Hemp Protein Muffins
Makes 2 muffins
2 whole eggs
1 egg white
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp carob powder
4 tbsp hemp protein powder (finally found another use of hemp protein besides our protein thin mints)
2 tsp xylitol
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Pour into lightly oiled ramekins or large muffin pan.
Place in oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes
Let cool before removing from pan.
Lori and I made these hemp protein muffins at night and enjoyed them the next day for a quick on-the-go breakfast. They were perfect!
Our mom is excited to learn how to make these…which speaking of mom, I got her to workout with me this morning.
I have always been inspired to workout with my mom as Janetha does with her mom!
So my mom promised she will make changes, and we are starting with fitness.
7am after our pre-workout coffee we laced up our tennis shoes and hit the pavement. We walked around the neighbor, walking about 35 minutes. It was more of a stroll as we talked the whole time. We will have to work on picking up our pace
Then we came back and we did PLANK and BRIDGE. I grabbed my Gymboss Interval Timer, and since mom is new to this we did something different.
I set the timer for 8 rounds of 30/30 seconds and for each 30 second interval we alternated in between holding low plank and bridge. Mom did 4 rounds with me, I was so proud. We plan to do this every morning together and hopefully over time add in some more things for her to do with me. I continued on with my workout and did my pullups (2 sets of 10) on my equalizer plus did 3 sets of 15 pushups on my equalizer.
